Landry Jones is better than Max Hall. So, there's that.

Once we get in the playoffs, what Landry Jones did to us in Pittsburgh will mean jack-freaking squat, win or lose.

it'll matter if it costs us HFA.

This discussion is a very interesting read but to be honest with of you, nothing matters until playoff time. Any given Sunday is what makes football the best sport in the world. If you don't believe me on that ask the 2011 New York Giants (9-7)(had a -4 point differential at the end of the season), the 2010 GB packers (10-6)(won every game on the road to win the SB), or my favorite the 2008 AZ cardinals (you know the story). Get hot at the right time and let your qb maybe win some games which Palmer hasn't done yet when it really matters, but doesn't mean he can't, so I'm picking us as the best. The discussion of us not beating anyone doesn't mean anything when we have dominated every category exempt turnovers. You can call me a kool-aid drinker, but I honestly think we are the real deal. Go Cardinals :newcards:

I can immediately think of the Packers and Steelers winning the title by being a #6 seed and winning all three on the road en route to being champions. I think maybe the Giants did the same thing in one of their Super Bowl wins, but I'm not too sure on that one.

So, right now the Panthers have HFA at 8-0.

Three teams tied for second in the NFC at 6-2: Green Bay, Minnesota, and Arizona.

We play both of them at home and they still play each other home and away.

Good chance for us to still get HFA at least for one game. Just keep winning.

The Cards have as good...

a shot as anybody. Health will be the "key" factor down the stretch...

The Panthers are good but Newton takes too many hits...and IF Keuchley (sp?) goes down there'd be a gaping hole in their D...

The Packers are good but their receivers can't get any separation against good man-coverage teams...and Lacy has fumble-itis.

All I care about is that we're RELEVANT...and that makes every game, with its possible post-season implications, much more enjoyable to watch.

GO CARDS!

Mark :)

This. While it's fun to predict which teams will come out of the NFC based on remaining schedule, difficulty, etc., it really doesn't matter until week 1 WC weekend.

The two biggest contributing factors for a super bowl run imo are

A) Momentum
B) Health

Momentum based on how we handle our remaining opponents and the resulting team chemistry, body language, etc. through losses (I am not predicting an 8-0 finish, although I wouldn't mind seeing it :D)

Health as in, one fluke play and your QB can be lost for the season. If we remain relatively healthy for our home stretch, the sky is the limit (notwithstanding our terrible ILB situation... maybe Weatherspoon can find a light switch towards the latter half of the season). We know better than anyone that health may be the biggest factor going into the playoffs. Other teams can have fluke injuries also which can ultimately affect their momentum and play (for instance, the Pats just losing their best pass catching RB...)

aj.. are you just being deliberately obtuse here? Yes, I know that the Packers, Steelers and G-Men have won titles as a 6 seed, but it's pretty obvious that it's much easier to get there if you have HFA.

I guess it's much easier, but given the last 10 years or so that's not been the case. HFA hasn't been that, though I definitely wouldn't want to see the Cards possible road going thru that freezer in Green Bay.

Also think about this.....The Steelers have shut down and played great defense against the Bengals and New England. New England had 361 total yards the Bengals had under 300!!!!!

We had 469!!!! And they had 310!!!! and that was with a 80 yard TD pass on a fluke play in the closing minute!!!

so we held them to 230 total yards the entire game. and we had 100 yards more than New ENgland and had 3 big plays brought back on questionable calls. I dont think you are giving this team as much credit as they deserve. Look up the FPI

in fact baltimore had 409 against Pitt...other than that no one closeto 400 total offense against them....we had almost 500!!!

Uh YARDS DONT MATTER. Those teams beat them. We lost. End of argument.

Obviously everyone wants HFA. But, it is not exclusive to breeding success in the playoffs. So people don't need to say things like "Legit title contenders don't lose to Landry Jones." Because making such emphatic statements and ignoring history is very myopic.

Without much doubt AZ is the best so far. Haven't seen Carolina though yet. I'd say those two are at the top

I've seen 4 out of their 8 games, including the game against Seattle. They're for real, don't care what anyone says. They have a high scoring average and their defense is stellar.

I for one do not think we're the best team in the NFC. I'm not sure who is until it shakes out, but I know we've had a soft schedule and haven't looked tough at times. If we had dominated GB the way Carolina did, we'd be crowning ourselves.

However, we win against Seattle and Cincinnati both and my opinion probably changes.

Might just damn we'll be the Big Red:p

I still think we can beat anyone because of this dynamic offense. :D

Yep. What's even better is to be able to come from behind and win games when momentum shifts the other way. Cards never gave up and so many different players contributed. 39 points scored tonight against a very good defense. Big time confidence boost
