Trying to save some money and instead of renting a car would anyone be willing to pick me up from the airport in Tampa Sunday morning? I'll catch a cab back to the airport after the post game parties.

The plan currently is fly in early Sunday and fly out as early Monday as possible.

Anyone know a great steakhouse in Tampa?

Burns Steakhouse, any cut of meat, any thickness, any temp, any time.

Little weird decor and out of the way, but worth the trip

As reported at http://www.azcentral.com/sports/cardinals/articles/2009/01/18/20090118biz-cardssuperbowltickets.html

The Cards have about 11,000 tickets to sell for $825 each, but 2/3 of those are designated for sponsors and suite holders. That leaves about 3,500 for regular season ticket holders. Additionally, the NFL provides 500 tickets to sell for $525 each with additional provisions to discourage scalping. So, as season ticket holders, there are 4,000 tickets for the 60,000 fans or roughly a 15-1 chance of being picked.

Those odds improve if you've held the seats for a long time (and conversely get longer if you're a more recent addition. But even if they only took from the 20,000 Sun Devil Stadium stalwarts, each would only have a 5-1 chance of getting picked.

So know that your chance of being picked is small, no matter what.

I would caution flying in the day of the game. One canceled/delayed flight by the airline and you're screwed.

I'm trying to get some tix. My buddy is a lawyer down in Tampa and he reps DRC's cousin. I'm trying to work that connection hard. My wife is also working the Wendy's connection. I should know about that tomorrow :grabs:.

I know but I want no part of getting gouged by a hotel in town. The whole plan is to come in just for the game and leave without paying a cent for a hotel. Kinda silly I guess when I've already spent $2400 on a game ticket and will spend another $400 + on the airfare, but I will take my chances, Memphis rarely has flights cancelled due to weather and Tampa never does during this time of year.

Have my flight, car, working on a hotel but I will be there with my son. Of course I just bought a house and cannot afford it.

Flights into Orlando are half of what it costs to fly into Tampa. It is approximately a 90 minute drive from Orlando to Tampa.

If anyone got tickets and can't go I will buy your tickets. I live in Florida and would drive to Tampa in a heart beat to go to this game.

PM me and let me know to ensure this is as much Cardinal red as possible at this game.....

Freaking hotel companies. Why on earth would I want to spend $300+ a night for a freaking Days Inn? I HATE being gouged, I can handle paying a lot for the Super Bowl game itself but spedning way too much $$$ for a sh*tty hotel? I spent less than that a night for the freaking Waldorf in London.

Rant over.

I still haven't booked my trip to Tampa...still shopping around and getting more pissed by the minute.

HOTEL Info. The Days Inn Lakeland, look through Expedia. I think they only have King bed with a sofa couch for $160-$170 per night. Good reviews from travelers, non-smoking, breakfast. ABout 30 minutes from Tampa and 30 minutes from Orlando if you want to fly into there to save money.

Hopefully this is allowed to be posted on here. Not advertising for anyone just trying to help my fellow Cardinal Fans out.

Check out this place for rooms. I am not sure if they have anything, but sometimes you can get specials.

Fairly new, and pretty close by.
Not spamming, I have stayed here and it is good. Kinda small but might have specials.

Good Hotels in Tampa are tough to find. Consider Clearwater or St. Pete perhaps.

Might not be close but might be cheaper. Not sure.

1. I got an email from the Embassy Suites in Tampa offering to put someone up for only $4200 for four nights.

2. I'm staying at Disney's All-Star Movies resort in Orlando (just over an hour away). I'm paying $64 for Thursday night, $97 for Friday night (but I'm using a timeshare for Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights).

You guys might want to consider flying into Fort Myers as well. Yeah, it's a little further to Tampa (2 hours I think), but the flights are decently priced.

I also saw a flight into West Palm Beach for $246 on hotwire. That would require a four-hour drive once you get to Florida, I believe.

I've got a place to stay, just nothing else, lol.
