FWIW:

an article on MSNBC (I think) today said that re-sale ticket prices are dropping already --

an "expert" said he expects tickets to be selling close to face value by next week.

OK, I very rarely post on here but have been reading the board for years. Just can't contain my excitement as we just booked our airline tickets and are headed to Tampa for the game. My dad has been a season ticket since day one (I was 8 yrs old at the time) and we just couldnt pass up the opportunity even in these tight times financially. Gotta love credit cards! haha. Would love to meet up with some fellow cardinals fans while down there!

My wife & I are driving down, arriving Fri nite. Tickets are still in the works (the waiting to hear something is driving me batty!), but we'll be in...someway, somehow. I guess there is not tailgating around the stadium in NFL lots (which they all seem to be), so...I guess we'll perhaps hit one of the pre-game bar parties and then head over.

$99 each way from Austin to Orlando. Awesome. I'll be paying for this trip for years but it's worth it.

I just bought Lower level Goal Lines section 114 (Cards side). Paid way too much $3800 for 2, but wife said since she wasn't going that we could up grade our tickets. Lets win one

way to go.It's not too much for what may a once in a lifetime event. I know a guy in England that would have sold you 4 club seats for 1/2 that. :D

Thought I'd post our plans for anyone that wants to join. Thursday and Early Friday- Driving to Tampa from Texas.
Friday night- Don't know yet. Looking at the ajachannelside.com party with the girls next door till 3am but are open.
Staying in Lakeland at LaQuinta East. Noticed some people on the official board are staying there.
Saturday Day and Night- Open. Might do NFL Experience. Partying with fellow cards fans Sat night. Maybe another party.
Sunday- Park. Go to http://ultimatesuperbowltailgateparty.com/ and meet up with cheesebeef, ouchie, and crew.. for pre and post game party. Once again NFL Experience is right in between the party and the stadium. Might hit that up too if we get there early.

I will be there....was chosen via the Cardinals ticket lottery. Will be in Section 306...I think...have to pick tickets up in tampa. Flying out Thursday from Phoenix....direct flight on SWA. Return Monday....flying to Orlando. I may stay in Lakeland....it is between the airport and Tampa...and hotels appear to be decent priced. My 1st Super Bowl.

Thinking about going to Tampa

I planned a trip to Vegas about 2 months ago. I have tickets to the UFC fights on Saturday night. I knew it was SB weekend, but for some reason, I didn't plan on the Cards actually being in it... (FAIL :D)

So if I'm going to Tampa, I gotta get out of the MGM Grand at 10 PM, rush to the airport for a midnight flight to Orlando which gets in about noon on Sunday, get a car, check into the hotel, and get to the game.

The timing is tight, and sleep will be short, but this is a rare opportunity for us Cards fans. I'm leaning toward going, but it hinges on getting tickets, and I'm worried about getting scammed. Even from ticket brokers like TicketsNow or StubHub.

I'm working on it now, and if I can get my mitts on some tickets, we're going!

If things work out, I'll be back to see how we can hook up with some board members while we're there.

GO CARDS! :newcards:

I share season tickets with a friend (we are long time season ticket holders) and we got drawn for tickets in this latest batch. I am amazed as I had given up on going. But now with tickets, my wife is on board and we are going.

I have 3 boys 13, 11, and 8. They have half days at school Thur and Fri so we decided to make a vacation out of it. We are staying in Orlando for a week and head for the Magic Kingdom and other tourist attractions. My uncle lives in Orlando and is having a Superbowl party. He and his daughter will help watch the kids while we go to the game. How lucky is that!

See you in Tampa!

Someone posted on another board that airline tickets to Tampa out of San Diego are way way cheaper.

Long time lurker, infrequent poster.

I'm a 48 year old lifelong Cards fan raised in STL and I can't miss the (literal) opportunity of a lifetime to see the Big Red in the Superbowl! My 11 year old son, who is also a Cardinal fan (go figure) and I will be flying in from Chicago to Fort Meyers on Saturday on frequent flyer tickets. Flying back on Monday. Staying with the parents and driving up from Fort Meyers on Sunday in a cheap rental car. I haven't told my son yet, because I want it to be a surprise, but I can't imagine not being there despite the irrational prices. Great father/son bonding opportunity. Looks like I will be picking up tickets on Stubhub, but I am waiting for the prices to go down.

Lloydian, there doesn't seem to be a parking link on your post. Can you let me know how to get the parking pass? Anybody else have a bright idea on how to get a set of tickets reliably? I've had good luck with Stubhub in the past, so that's how I'm planning on getting the tickets. Ebay scares me. Too many horror stories.

A couple more fans in red will be there!

Fred
