That's easy... enter Ryan Lindley.

Some folks have been talking about drafting a QB early but that aint going to happen, we don't even pick early enough. Trades? The NFL GMs tend to stay away from trading valuable QBs. NFL teams can't afford to pay 3 QBs, not good QBs, the fanbase has to remember that instead of just wanting what our hearts desire.

Truth is, after all that's happened this year, everybody that said Ryan Lindley had no business being in the NFL, they will have to live with my man Lindley all next year as the number 3 QB on the Cardinals roster.

And it all makes sense. If we are making another run at the superbowl next year, we learned this year that we may need 3 QBs. If Logan is in the doghouse for lack of effort, playbook digestion, or just overall not progressing as "the project"... than Ryan Lindley becomes the immediate next man up, as proven this year by the Cardinal moves.

Those who want to draft a QB? We saw what a rookie late round QB draft pick looks like this year... no bueno, even for quarterback whisperers. If we do not want history to repeat it's self, we will have a #3 QB with at least some gametime experience and a knowledge of our offense.

Those who want to sign a free agent or trade to upgrade our strength at the #3 QB position... it's a position we will most likely want to pay the League minimum salary. Keim has been great with the 1 year motivational contracts to certain positions, but the #QB hopefully will not see any time in 2015, so playing time cannot be dangled as a reason to come here.

Ryan Lindley must be closer to God than Tebow was, because he was definitely on his way out of the NFL, and God did give Lindley the ability of being able to complete a pass. Cardinal misfortune has given him multiple opportunities, some of which may have come too early/soon in his career. If he has a decent game on Saturday he will be a Cardinal, once again... next year.

Happy New years, Feliz nav... good luck in the new year and Go Cards!

Thomas was considered the most raw QB in the draft I think. Anyone in the draft besides maybe Manziel would have been further along then Logan Thomas was.

We can definitely do MUCH better than Ryan Lindley. Until he can string together consecutive good games I am convinced his mediocre game against SF is his absolute ceiling. I pray Logan Thomas' mental ability catches up with his athletic ability

DesertDawg,
You could be right and Lindley should be in the mix. Is there a better college prospect or vet out there than what we have that we could get? I don't really know but hope that GM Keim and his staff fix this. I just don't want to be in the same position next year as this year.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think it will be Logan Thomas or a rookie. This team does not have cap space to spend on a "startable" third option.

Teams don't give up on 4th round picks unless they're absolutely garbage, or the draft shakes out to afford a replacement.

Lindley will likely not make a practice squad next year.

Maybe he will after he has a playoff win under his belt come this Saturday!! I have a feeling this Cards team will not turn tail and run.

Hopefully - next season - our #1 and #2 stay healthy and we never need to worry about #3.

I don't think the issue at hand is who will be #3. I think that Stanton may be the guy who doesn't return. Your #2 must be durable, because you NEVER want to have to rely on your #3. Stanton has a history of getting injured. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the odd man out next year.

Stanton has a a $3.8 million salary in 2015 with dead money only being $600K if he is cut. That is a lot of money for a backup especially given his injury history.

Kirk Cousins wants out of Washington. This kid has looked great at times and not so great at others However considering he has been on the crapstorm of the NFL , maybe?

1. Palmer

2. Kirk Cousins:
I would be ok with this.. He has showed enough upside to at least take a chance on, If the media is to be believed, he has no interest in being a backup.. Which is ridiculous IMO given his resume thus far.

3. A true QBOF prospect... If Arians still thinks that's Logan, than so be it, but this offense is not easy to pick up, so we better have the understudy in place pretty damn quick.

Stanton?

Injury issues, inability to complete short to mid routes to save his life.. I think if he was more durable you could argue for him as the #2, but if you're showing a pattern of going out shortly after the guy you took over for AND you're inaccurate, I don't see the upside at all.

1. Palmer

2. Stanton unless they trade for Glennon, then Glennon becomes the #2 with Stanton on the outside looking in. I think Glennon would be a slight upgrade to Stanton. Glennon could be had for less money too.

3. Could very well be Lindley. If BA isn't blowing smoke up our backside he does seem pretty pleased with Lindley's progress. He doesn't seem so pleased with Thomas. I think he was expecting more from Thomas and when Thomas couldn't deliver in practice before the SF game then I wonder if they are not going to reevaluate Thomas and his long term viability. I don't believe Thomas could have delivered a first half performance like Lindley did had he started against SF.

Is Lindley under contract for 2015, or did they just sign him through the end of 2014? Anyone know what they did when they brought him back?

I believe it was just for the remainder of this year, but if he plays well tomorrow I think they will ink him up to the League minimum for 2015.

Lindley is showing what he is, a fringe#3 QB, we have got to be able to do better next season.
