I'm not in favor of getting rid of him because he is on a rookie contract, but I see very little upside with him. He's not particularly good at anything. He is undersized, not a good help or 1 on 1 defender, mediocre at best rebounder, and pretty awful offensively.
I think the comparison to Bismack Biyambo is a very good one.

Look, I agree we should move on from Booker, but I have accepted it just isn't going to happen, so arguing for it is a waste of time.

Really? I'm not sold on Oso but I favor keeping him until we know for sure what he can become. I don't see him this way but if I thought he was a younger Bismack, I'd have no doubts. I'd absolutely keep him. BB has had a long career despite being severely hobbled by injuries that often kept him from even working out during the season yet he's still been a borderline starter level center and a well above average backup big man. For a franchise that has always been desperate for big men, throwing out a young Biyombo would be just the kind of mistake we've come to expect from the Suns.

You could well be right but I refuse to give up hope. I'm convinced that trading him is by far the best thing for our future. I'll miss him but if we keep him, give him all the money we can, we're all going to end up despising him by the time he's finished in the Valley.

That's giving up on him way too early IMO. He's a 2nd round pick who had sparse minutes in his first year. He showed some flashes as far as screening ball handling and IQ. His shooting is abyssmal, but that is definitely a basketball skill that can be improved with the right coaching. And if Bud was truly as bad as everyone says he is, I don't see any valid reason to compare him at all to anyone at this point.

He is a very good passer, solid on defense too, we generally played well when he was on the court. I don't see any reason to get rid of cheap, young talent.
I think he is somewhere between Boris Diaw and Luke Walton, either way, a solid rotation piece.

Suns are not in a position to easily acquire young talent, so Oso, Gillespie, Richards, and even Bol should be retained. Martin fits in this group as well, but I don't see how they get under the second apron without letting him go. Dunn is already a starter-lever player, and an easily the best defender they have, so he must be retained. I love Booker, but if I have to give him $70M a year in a year or two... I just can't do it. I like Royce and Allen, but I would trade them if it improved the team. I'd probably give us Oso or Nick if that was the only way to get rid of Beal, but I am sure that wouldn't be enough. I'd be OK retaining Morris if he wanted to come back for whatever reason.

I'm done with Allen. As important as 3 point shooting is, you can't be bad at everything else, and he was bad at everything else.
If they can get something of note back for him, they should jump at it.

Well, I think on the right team he still has a lot of value. I don't have a problem trading him if the return is decent, but I don't see the point in getting rid of him just to get rid of him.

Bismack has had a long career as a 3rd string center. That's what I think Oso is. If that is all you want from him, I don't have a problem keeping him either, I just don't want him playing to many minutes.
I think it was more of what we didn't have at center that let Oso stand out.

Sure but the reason he became a 3rd string center was purely injury related, it had nothing to do with talent. He'd had a promising run in year 5 or so (big men develop late) which earned him a starting job offer and a big payday.
From there it was all downhill, in part because he just wasn't a great fit as a starter in what the NBA was becoming, but mostly because of his chronic knee problems. He eventually became a 3rd string/emergency center but he was never the 3rd best center on a team - he just wasn't healthy enough to be counted on as an everyday player. If he'd stayed healthy he would have been a great backup defensive big man that could step in as starter for stretches. If Oso can do that, we need to keep him.
This. I don't mind hanging onto Allen. However, he is no starter. He is a rotation player.
15M for 10pts and over 40% from 3pt land.
Seems like once he got paid, a lot of his focus and drive was gone. There was no effort to make crisp passes or hustle plays. Sun bought some gunners that didn't pan out, which led to our lack of identity, Allen has contributed to that this season.
Let me guess, he'd duck out before the check arrives at the Waffle House or was he the sort of guy who always "forgot" his wallet?

I wouldn't complain if the author had created a lower grade than F just for us. This year was a very boring yet still hugely embarrassing failure, especially when compared to expectations - and I don't believe any team should rival us for that bottom rung.
FWIW we were the lowest F. I can see why Philly got one as well but health was their issue and ultimately Embiid is an MVP level player they had to gamble on. He's 31 now but it made sense to swap Tobias Harris for George. It didn't work but they deserve more credit than us for what they tried to do. Maybe last year a straight F or D- would make sense for the Suns but this is year 2 of this mess and ultimately they didn't improve around the Mid 3. We swapped out Nurkic for a career backup and lost Gordon, who was more impactful than Tyus was for us. Just really ugly here in Phoenix.
