I realized today with baseball officially around the corner, I have no idea what the rotation may look like for the year...

Is Hudson our #1?

I know Hudson and Kennedy, who else do we have, and does anyone know if the 8-2 record husdon had last year is realistic?

Thanks for all those who are in the know!

As I see it, we have 6 SPs for 5 spots. Ian Kennedy, Joe Saunders, Zach Duke, Armando Galarraga, Barry Enright, and Daniel Hudson.

I think there is no doubt that Kennedy, Saunders, and Hudson have spots locked down. That means Duke, Galarraga, and Enright will battle for the final two spots in the rotation. My guess is that it'll be Enright and Galarraga with Duke getting some mop-up/injury duty.

Management claims money won't be a factor in their decision who makes the rotation but I have to imagine it will. Duke is guaranteed over $4 million and Galarraga's contract will become guaranteed if he breaks camp with the club. He will make just north of $2 million.

My guess is the rotation will look like this:
1. Hudson
2. Kennedy
3. Saunders
4. Galarraga
5. Duke

Enright will be sent to the minors and will be the first option should someone falter or get hurt. And I would venture to guess that Parker will be up sometime after May so we can sneak an extra year of service in.

Articles I have seen recently indicate that, too. Pitching in the Minors in a regular starting rotation is better for Enright than sitting in the bullpen with the D'backs.
