Cardinals - just like they were prior to moving to AZ.

I have zero ties to the state of AZ; just loyal to the team.

Same for me. Had the Cards changed their name, logo, or colors upon moving from St. Louis, I would've bailed & would probably be a Pats fan like the rest of my family. But they didn't & I'm not.

For example, I grew up in Hartford, CT as a big Whalers fan. But I want nothing to do with the team that currently plays hockey in NC. Different name, different colors, etc. I won't even utter their name almost 20 yrs after the Whale left CT. Yes, I'm still bitter.

Have you tried therapy. I would say that professional help will be necessary after all this time of holding it in. I am sorry for you and hope you feel better some day. I know what it is like to lose someone you love.

Being a young impressionable kid in the early 90's, I started off a Cowboys fan. Luckily my older brother pulled me aside and gave me a heart to heart saying I can be a fan of any team, just not the Cowboys. Watched a Cardinals game where Garrison Hearst was actually having a good game and I've been hooked ever since.
see that would make me want to be a fan even more if someone told me not to be one. but being a cowboys fan I can see how annoying cowboys fans outside of texas are. many of them are only fans because they won a lot
(like yankee/laker fans that are scattered). then there are some that are fans because their area didn't have a team to cheer for and the cowboys were very likable in the 70s with staubach and landry. that is when the cowboys were truly america's team..in spite of pittsburg winning more rings that decade)

with jerry not so much....in fact most cowboy fans don't even like jerry. they may still stake claim to being popular but it is not because of anything jerry did. all he has done is make the cowboys more profitable from a business standpoint and capitalized on what others have done. I can see a time in the very near future where the cowboys will lose popularity nationally if they don't start winning again.

luckily I am from dfw so I didn't have to worry about having a good football team to cheer for when I was a kid. but the rangers and mavericks sucked for many years when I was young. when I was small it was all about just going to the games and having fun so I wasn't bummed out when they sucked. I can't imagine cheering for them as an adult now if they stunk for that long. I just wouldn't watch if they sucked for multiple years..

I think if I was from arizona I would be fans of all of their teams there....especially the cardinals/suns/dbacks with them having some success over the years. the coyotes I'm not sure but honestly I doubt I would even be a big hockey fan if it wern't for the stars moving to texas.

Probably the only scenario where I would have switched loyalties would have been in regards to the rumor back in the '90s where the Cards would have moved to Cleveland to become the new Browns.

I don't know how legit that rumor was (probably not legit at all), but that would have done it for me; no way would I have become a Browns fan.

In high school, I rooted for the Cowboys living in Sacramento, CA only to spite my father, who's a lifelong Niners fan. I got more into them when it turned out that my best friend at USAF tech school was a Cowboys fan from North Carolina.

I got stationed here in AZ in 1993 and decided to stay when I got out in 1996. Since I'm a "root for the hometown" kinda guy (except when spiting my father), I switched and have learned to hate the Cowboys in the ensuing years.
