Why aren't we talking about the asinine Coach Whisenhunt?

I completely disagree with not running it there, said so on the game thread, but it did show his confidence in Max Hall.

Totally agree. I was yelling "Don't pass" before the play and was NOT happy that he did. The saving grace was the clock starting after the ball was ruled out of bounds. I thought the rule was the clock stopped on out of bounds plays in the last five minutes of the game. I also wasn't too happy with DRC not sitting down with the INT.

But, I'm ecstatic with the victory. Every winning team in the NFL makes mistakes, they just make fewer, or overcome them better, than the losers.

I was screaming at the TV when DA came in, I questioned that move big time, but if Hall was gimpy its all good. I cant stand DA.

They said Max had the wind knocked out of him so I was ok with it. DA actually completed a ball too, of course he nearly got Williams injured, twice, in the short time he was in.

I just hope Breaston and Doucet are not only healthy, but healthy early enough they get more than a few practices with Max. It will be great to have 3 healthy experienced WR's out there instead of Fitz, Patrick and a bunch of rookies. Not a coincidence they caught most of the balls today.

I didn't care for the call but FWIW Warner said he'd pass in that situation before the play was even called.

He did the exact same thing in the NFC Championship game and it was completed to Spach for a first down. Game over

He was heralded as a genius then, now its a "bad call" sheesh

Is this the way it's going to be all season long? Bitching and complaining even after a great win like today? Will we never get to revel in the thrill of a win anymore and just have to listen to negative crap like this no matter what happens?

We are 3 - 2 going into our bye week, in first place in our league and just beat the World Champions handily. Can we at least enjoy that for one day before we start all the negative crap again?

I don't know what happened to this board. It used to get somewhat negative after a particularly bad loss, but now it seems like it is like that all the time. This change in ownership has not been good for this board.

I'd much rather be a Pollyanna than a negative Nelly any day of the week. What's the sense of rooting for a team if you can't even enjoy it when they win?

Amen.

Agreed. Two things about Hall that caught my eye today reminding me so much of Warner. He kept running the clock almost to zero on every play. Warner used to do that and it almost drove me to distraction. The second thing is where he got his foot stepped on (by Duece, I think), but still managed to hand the ball off even though he was almost laying on the ground. Warner was a master at that.

I know in the scheme of things, these type of things don't mean much, but it was almost comforting seeing familiar traits. For some reason, I was never really worried about this game. I had a feeling we would win and we did. All around it was a really enjoyable experience and well worth the ticket money.

Is this the way its going to be all season long with you whining about anything anyone posts that isn't all wine and roses? Nothing has happened to this board it is the same as its always been. Use the search function to go back and read the old threads from 2003 on.

It's just that some of us have higher expectations for the Cards now and actually like talking about all aspects of the game rather than just posting whoo hooo we won.

There was more time on the clock in that game iirc. If they run on 3rd and punt it the Saints would have only had about 10secs on the clock.

You are only complaining because you know what I am saying is true and it bothers you. I've talked about all aspects of the game, but you won't take the time to read my posts because you don't agree with my opinion.

Complaining just for the sake of complaining is old school Cardinal fan. It's just so yesterday.:p

1)That's Kurt Warner

2)I'm almost positive that ATL had a timeout left in that game, and there was more time on the clock

I agree, I'm against that call, but the thread title was ridiculously dumb.

And the reason we're not talking about it is because we're celebrating our victory against the defending champs, a game where we made plenty of other good decisions. Enjoy it!

We completed the pass here so it shouldn't have mattered. Not Whiz's fault the TE fumbled the ball "out of bounds" (refs are blind IMO but whatever).

i don't need to go thru the litany of qb's coache's and players i have seen come and go for nearly four decades of this team,

is whiz the best coach since coryell ? yes, is he perfect? no was it a bad call? yes, can i see both sides of the argument? yes

so the best that can come from this is a push, we won, i'm happy the end

Settle down everyone. There is no reason to be insulting each other. If you need to resort to that, then please give yourself a break from the board.

Dudes, we have to celebrate this victory. This saved the season. Realize if we win our Division and have to face these guys. Now it will be at home instead of on the road. We get the tiebreaker. I agree we have to fix things but this was a damn good win for us.

It was the perfect call.

The Saints thought we were going to run it.
Most of us thought or wanted us to run it.

But what makes it the perfect call was the fact Hall was on the move. If Patrick was covered , Hall just runs until he has to slide.

The only thing that made that play questionable was Patrick not having the presence of mind to know the defense was going to try and strip the ball.

I liked the call.

Your right, it was the ATL game, not the NFC Championship game.

May have been Warner, but the call was the same. End the game...Or as Herm Edwards like to say:

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!!:D

Don't we all know Whiz well enough to expect the unexpected. I called it that he would pass there, because Whiz plays to win. He wanted to keep the ball & not give it back to Brees.

Yeah the thread title takes away from what would otherwise be an interesting post game discussion.

I was livid the Cards did that because I've seen my team lose because they didn't manage the clock properly. Heck UT almost lost a bowl game once because Saint Vince inexplicably ran out of bounds as UT was trying to run out the clock.

But as I said before that's just CKW. It wasn't the first time he's done something like that and it won't be the last.

I refute that it was a horrible call. The concern it the fumble by Patrick, right?

Wells and THT have proven they aren't great at holding onto the ball. Cardinals spelled backwards spoke for me in his post.
