Why did the forum die?

We've lost several posters to the cruel realities of life - it ends, it brings you triplets, it puts you in the hospital or the poor house, it overwhelms you and so on. But I think much of it also has to do with how available the NFL is to everyone these days. Remember, it wasn't that long ago that the NFL Channel didn't exist and there was no Redzone Channel and no Thursday Night Football and no Sunday Night Football and the list goes on.

If you think back to the Cards Corner days or the early days of this board or it's predecessor, much of the activity came from Cards fans that didn't live in the Valley area and this was their best chance to keep up with everything Cards related. Now, there are just so many ways to get your Cards fix. We've probably been hit a little harder than most fan forums because so much of our fan base is not local to the team itself.

I'm sure we've lost a few to the burden of expectations too. Had we started out in preseason well or jumped on the Patriots, we'd probably have seen a lot more action here this past week. Hopefully, a strong performance on Sunday will raise the excitement level around this joint. I don't post much in the Football forum but like many of us, I do miss the information and passion we used to find here.

Put the birthdays back on this forum. It built family when we could easily see who was having a milestone and congratulate our favorite posters with a lot of smilies. Monday would be a good day to start.

I think it's only a couple. Let's not tack on any extra because I got a little cranky yesterday when the waitress handed me the menu and said, "The senior's menu is on the back."

Fab. Smaller portions at a lower price because we eat dinner at four thirty. I vote they give us free beer.

I think that this kind of discussion board is increasingly a relic. Younger kids just don't do this. It's all Twitter and Snapchat now, so there is no new blood coming in as we thin out in number over time.

I showed two of my daughters this message board about a month ago when they ask me what I was doing and I may as well have been showing them a picture of a dinosaur.

I call BS. I've been here 6 years under Darkside as a handle and another 10 years prior under a different handle. This board has changed. K9 doesn't care because he's been banned and hated way back when, like seriously hated, and Cheese, no offense, but you don't care because you're a company dude. You're a media guy and always have been. You know the artistic medium. It's the lense which you look through. So your perspective is different than an average guy.

Think about it... when we sucked, there were a plethora of arguments to be had on almost every subject. trust me... I was usually in there arguing to no end. But there's just not much to argue about now... we're all pretty much in agreement on almost everything.

But maybe there is something more... maybe message boards are kind of going through the same thing that some people I know (me included) is thinking about social media in general... that it's oversaturated and it's not the best use of time, thus people are pulling back.

I will say this. As a new person you guys are a tight group. Even if you don't see eye to eye you 're a group. It was hard to get in just the little I think I might have. Then I got banned for like 4 days without warning but that got worked out thank you for that. I see banned by a lot of names. I don't get that.IMO this board is to old fashion with a group that has been together a long time. If it's only a family board it will IMO fade away.

Opposing fans get banned fast that I have seen. I don't see any here. Let them play a little so what. To many places to go without trying so hard to stay in a tight line to try to get in with a long time group. You people know your stuff. All kinds of stuff not just football and you know it well. So you have your group your way. As I said that group doesn't mean you even like each other but you have been that group a long time.

Some of your group is gone. RIP love your friends. Time to IMO open it up. Yes that means this board will never be what it was for a lot of you but change is not bad it's a must IMO to grow. People will lean from you and get better at what they bring if they have the time to bring it. It's time to open the doors even if your not a sports pro, P&R expert, can't spell well or write in one big paragraph.

Right? Haha, I have NO idea what Darkside is talking about. I thought I did but when he came back with his diatribe against me I figured I must've missed something. But maybe it's not just me.
