DeCastro was VERY highly rated. Massie was rated high, but nowhere near that high. DeCastro fell far for himself, as did Massie. Yet there's no question about DeCastro and all of a sudden, plenty about Massie. If PITT took Massie, there would be none, just a "why didn't we get him?" for a question. Maybe it's the Cards curse, but it seems we can't be happy when a great player falls to us out of position and we have to question it, but I just don't get it... be happy, I am...
I think there's considerable separation between DeCastro and Massie - not so much in their upsides but in terms of which guy has less risk and is more plug'n play.

No knock,on Massie, but DeCastro appears more fail safe. Massie will just have more to prove.

of course, that's why one went in the 1st and the other in the 4th. My only point was that they were both projected to go much sooner, Massie sliding shouldn't worry everybody too much. We got a guy scouted as being an impact player at RT in the 4th. I'm freaking ecstatic

That wasn't the point. You made the statement that we are thin at the front 7 but as of this moment we aren't. Now I'll admit that you might be correct when it comes to what we look like come the regular season but until then no one really knows. What you consider to be quality might be entirely different than what the Cards and Horton see as quality. I'll wait until the final roster to make a determination whether I think we're thin. For some reason I don't think Horton believes we are. Not to mention that there are going to be some changes made before the regular season starts. We have no way of knowing what those changes might be yet.

D-line Dan Williams Calais Cambell Darnell Dockett Nick Eason David Carter I worry that we are depending on couple of undrafted FA and a couple of 1-2 year guys that haven't shown anything, we better hope we stay healthy. But that isn't the biggest concern for me LB's Daryl Washington OBrien Schofield Paris Lennon Stewart Bradley Sam Acho I'll even throw in Reggie Walker(even thou he IMO hasn't shown anything more then a special teams player) we picked up a ton of UDFA at the LB postion so my guess is Horton wasn't thrilled with depth there, but counting on UDFA's may not be the smartest thing ever. Now I do agree that We will (actually need because we didn't address it) make a couple of moves and these spots are not finished products, but I think we will have to agree to disagree about how thin we are at this time, IMO if you play a 3-4 defense at some point your LB's need to be the rock solid group of your defense, and IMO it is the most suspect and was before the draft for me anyway. IMO we lacked somewhat in this draft because we didn't address front seven, and that is why I gave us B- grade, but every time we don't add front seven I downgrade our draft I just think that is where most games are still won or lost JMO.
