WHY is Ellington not getting the majority of the carries?

He said that is what happened to Willie Parker and he was out of the league in 5 years. He said that he doesn't want a repeat of that.

I agree with this and it's not a novel approach. Sproles has been on at least 2 different teams that haven't overused him.

Chris Johnson has the monster year where he was used a ton and hasn't been as good since.

Maybe next year Duke will get more carries and touches when he has had a true NFL offseason to get ready.

JetstreamGreen started a thread about Duke being our best chance to make the playoffs. My take is that Duke is our best chance to advance in the playoffs. Not saying we are a lock to get to the dance but if we do then we will need him more then than now.

Keep him as healthy as possible and then turn him loose.

Catfish started a thread about CP and the passing game winning the game for us and it is spot on. How many here thought that was possible? Based on CP's 1st half of the season I know I didn't have faith in the passing attack. Now we see Floyd have a HUGE game and Housler has had two good games in a row. Ballard and Roberts are chipping in. Point is more and more weapons are stepping up and this Offense should continue to grow and improve.

No need to put it all on a 5' 9" RB who weighs 200lbs.

BA and staff had a great day calling the right plays for this team. They have young defenders and Palmer with time and Floyd ripped them apart. The running game was tried early and the results no matter who ran the rock were bad news. I'm not a Mendy fan and I would much rather see Ellington and Taylor in there for all the leg work. They are more of a threat to defenders.

Anyway 6-4 first year head coach and staff with near 30 new players, Wow!

You know who would be a great compliment to Ellington next year? Carlos Hyde, from Ohio State.

Sorry bro! But if you are hyping a RB especially an OSU RB we need to stay as far away as possible!

Does it just come down to Arians being stubborn?

Yesterday they said due to his small size the team did not think he could hold up as a full time RB and wanted to protect him.

Didn't Ellington have like 8 carries & 1 yard today? HOF material there ;)

I'm not a big Mendy supporter, but I'm not sure Ellington can tote the rock that often given his size. At 6-4 I'm pretty sure BA isn't going to change what he's doing anytime soon.

They stopped the run but could not stop the pass. Palmer was spot on nearly all day and he stepped up or back when he needed to. His experience showed up. If you can protect him he can put the ball on target. Maybe Palmer can turn into a Warner of sorts????? Fitz is clearly playing hurt and has a slight limp but is out there and still can draw double coverage. Our TE's showed up big time yesterday. Dansby as usual was everywhere. How long did we sign him for? Same with Abraham. If we had a big time LT we would be awesome. We should sign another old timer like Abraham. He and Dansby may have been two of our most productive guys we have signed in a long time. Why did Miami let Dansby go? He was playing very well for them I thought? Maybe he just likes Arizona.

What happened to your gotta run it more than throw to win scenario? ;)

Lol

It looked to me like they lined up to stop the run most of the time and played man on man most of the time. Give an experienced QB like Palmer that scenario and you are going to get burned. They were not very good at stopping the pass to our big TE's with one on one coverage. I hope Palmer's performance increased his confidence level to where he can repeat it on a regular basis. He sure outplayed the KC QB Anderson who is still angry with SF. This has been a fun year so far & we have already exceeded (I think) last year's victories. I thought at best we were a 8-8 team this year or more likely a 7-9. Carter, Dansby, Abraham. Honey Bear sure picked up some slack. Cannot forget our kicker who has missed only one kick this year and seems to consistently put the kickoffs into the end-zone.
