Why is everyone afraid of Atlanta?

I think that the Falcons are good, but not unbeatable. We need to run right at John Abraham, no stretch play, no misdirection that takes time to develop, run the ball at them and run hard. We do have the heaviest line in the NFL, it is about time that they start acting like it. If they come out and decide to have Warner throw with five and seven step drops all day, this offense is toast. If they can come out and commit to running the ball, they might have a chance.

That's going to be difficult to do unless Edge takes the handoff and runs directly for the sideline. Abraham's listed as "questionable" on the injury report and I don't think he's played in the Dirty Birds' last two games.

Yeah, well Edge will run over to the sideline, run over Abrahams and kick his butt. Then he'll run over and kick Vick's butt for good measure. You ain't talking bout no pansy here.

Do I watch every game? That's a joke - it's the fact that while watching every game AND the fact that there are ZERO stats to back up your point is what makes me continue to scrtrach my head at the notion that somehow we have the deepest 8 man line in the league. You know what I've seen the last two years? Teams run the ball down our throat and since Berry went down last season, the absolute absence of pressure on the quarterback.

Wouldn't you think that with all the "playing very well" that there would be SOME stats to back your claims up? I mean SOMETHING that you could actually hang your hat on besides "I say so" which is what you continue to do.

As far as our ends versus Jax - again, what this year shows that our ends are better? Is it the lack of pressure they put on the QB? They're glowing tackle numbers? What is it exactly besides "I sxay so" leacds you to this conclusion?

Do you? It really doesn't sound like you do if you would argue that Jacksonville's ends are better than ours. What do you want for stats, sack numbers? I could just go back to two years ago when Berry put up more sacks in a single season than any other player on any of the lines you contest are so much better than the Cards. Need more stats? Since you are only analyzing from a statistical standpoint here are some: Our DTs have twice as many tackles as those (Stroud and Henderson) on the Jags, have the same number of sacks, and our DTs also have more Forced Fumbles and Fumble Recoveries.

Their defense is predicated on speed. They have a fast defense and frankly our o-line and halfback are not the fastest group in the NFL. What we are going to need to do is committ to running over them, not around them. That's what I mean.

Not really because my original post was reasoning for staring Leinart. The defense played well enough to win until "Fumbles" put it on the ground again in a position to score. After that, the defense just kind of gave up and i can't blame them. The Warner led offense put a whopping 3 points on the board. I do agree about Berry. He doesn't look like the same player. I think Dockett, Clancy,Okeafor and Antonio Smith held up pretty well until ,like i said, another Warner fumble.

Which came right after his absolutely ATROCIOUS pass to a linebacker who couldn't catch the gift but at least tipped it to Hall turning a 5 point game into a 12 point game.

I haven't watched the tape of the Falcons game yet, but Berry has looked like trash the first couple games of the season. We all knew he was a liability against the run but he is rarely even getting near the opposing QB now on passing downs.

I keep reading how Leinart is going to get killed in Atlanta. When did Atlanta become this unbeatable force on defense. I bet 95% of the people on here can't name 5 defensive starters without looking it up. Abraham has been hurt. Hartwell has been hurt. Hall got banged up last night. They are good on defense but the Saints put 23 points on them with special team help but, the other thing is they are absolutely putrid on offense. They have no passing game and if you keep Vick from beating you with his legs then they can't score. They have a 68 year old FG kicker that requires them getting inside the 10 to be in FG range. Their defense is helped out by their ball control ability. If the Cards stop the run, something they've been good at this year, i can easily see a victory this week. I think it's a perfect time for Leinart to start. The offense probably won't have to put 25-30 points up to win. Heck, the Cards almost went in their and won with McCown at qb two years ago. Leinart can go in there and play mediocre and get 17 points on the board and the Cards come away with a 17-7 victory.
