This staff needs an ex-HC on it's staff and also add some experience. That's why McCoy is being seriously considered. Worked as OC and can help as assistant head coach too. That's where Caldwell comes into pic too.

Wolf and Pasch agree. I think John DeFilippo would be a better choice. Get this---one of the reasons why McCoy was fired in mid-season by the Broncos this year was his "over-complicated offense" (to quote the Broncos' website). Ugh.

I like the over complicated offenses. But you need a Manning, Big Ben or Palmer to run it. If McCoy is hired, they will make a run at Cousins who is a decent fit in that scheme.

Rumor is McCoy wants Brock Osweiler.

Does anyone really think we need another highly complicated offense?

Caldwell and Flip are intriguing. Caldwell is great with QB's and seemingly so is Flip, albeit in limited sample size. Want nothing to do with Bevell or Mccoy.

If you are Flip don't you want to go to work at Titans, Colts, Vikings, Giants where you can put yourself in a favorable situation to be next HC candidate?

Can't see Colts or Giants, since McDaniels and Shurmur will likely be calling plays, so the OC will be kind of an afterthought. Titans might be intriguing...young QB, RB and good O-line. It really all depends on what the Cards are selling; are they planning on going after a good FA QB, or looking to trade up in the draft? That would be an enticing prospect for Flip.

First sorry for not posting current positions, I was on the run and wasn’t sure what was out there. I like DeFlippo or Caldwell. I’m not sure Holcomb has signed but for Carolina to keep him they’d have to make him DC and they don’t seem ready to do this.

I think Caldwell would have been a decent HC candidate and would help Wilks get things under control quickly. He has a creative offensive mind. Since building a QB is critical DeFlippo also makes sense. I don’t like McCoy’s offensive philosophy and Bevell’s play calling.

Plus...the new trend is making young QBs comfortable by going back and adding plays they liked and ran well in college.

Complexity comes from variations of the same play or same sets. When you are starting over like Cards, you can start with simpler sets and offensive scheme and calls. To sustain, it is inevitable that you add complex variations in for any kind of offense (vertical, coryell or WCO).

The last time he was an OC, he helped Joe Flacco and the Ravens win the Super Bowl, 34-31 over the 49ers. He helped Matt Stafford improve to a 97.2 QBR. He had 3 winning seasons out of 4 in Detroit.

He may be a good coach (not HC) but is he a great OC? I don't think he has the resume for that.

Caldwell has been coaching QBs and offense his entire career, which includes 2 Super Bowl wins in 3 Super Bowl appearances.

Caldwell had Manning, Flacco and Stafford as his QBs. Cards don't have any. But he also never had a RB like DJ. Not sure how he will fare.

I am OK if cardinals hire him as his resume is impressive and adds much needed experience to this "green" staff

Your correct...he has been coaching QB's and WR's most of his career. Only 1 year as an OC. Sign him as the QB coach but I am not buying his as the OC.

Based on Jurecki's report: Only Garver (asst. WR coach) and Larry Foote (LB coach) will be retained from Arian's staff

Buckner deserves to stay on. Other than that it is expected.

not sure why Foote is retained...our LB's SUCK! They're out of position and run around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Shoot they couldn't even talk Keim and Co into drafting Ruben Freakn Foster. Arguably the a top 4 player in that draft. Everyone here saw what Foster did on the field...and no one saw what Redman did.

I would have fired anyone and everyone having anything to do with the LB's
