He doubled down on Bender and Chriss while giving up the rights to Bogdanovic for the priviledge. EPIC FAIL!

Their draft was widely lauded by the media and this board. But we're obviously not talent evaluators. Whiffing on two picks in the top 10 is bad.

It doesn't help the Suns haven't done anything in free agency either.

The Ariza signing turned a lot of heads. I can't tell you how many times I heard one of the ESPN group rave about what he will do for us and rant about what Houston lost. Shows how much they know. OTOH, aren't the Rockets right there with us at the bottom of the league?

Too bad they don't have something to trade us for Ariza. They are 1-5.

Our last 7 years have been a complete bust. All these top picks. ..the 3 headed guards...We have Ayton and Booker to show for 7 freaking years. I miss us just being relevant. I can't believe how much we have fallen it's really sad

This on top of passing on Sabonis, Murray, and Hield.
I remember wanted Ellenson & Sabonis, but liked Hield as well as I thought he and Booker could be as lethal a shooting duo as the Splash Brothers. Ellenson can't get off the bench in DET and it took a change in scenery for Sabonis to become the success that he is and Hield is starting to live up to the college hype. While we whiffed big time. It's no wonder McD got canned. Booker and Warren were good picks and Ayton was a no brainer but the rest of his drafts and lack of FA success killed his tenure here.

the silver lining is that if Ayton and Booker become top 10 NBA players as projected, it's a good haul in 7 years. and it can lead to a championship if we steer the ship correctly moving forward.
the current coach and GM are not likely to make the trip.

I love Booker and Ayton, but I'm not sure they're both projected to be top 10 players.

Buh bye, Dragan. Whether it was your fault or the that of the Suns decision makers, it's best for all that you get a fresh start somewhere else.

Good luck.

Well we are only a few games into the season.

Sure, and that could be all this is. But I have always thought he was a little overrated (good role player, not very good role player) and watching the Rockets last season I really thought he appeared to be on the decline. I mentioned both shortly after he was signed so it's not hindsight on my part.

Well, here are the uncomfortable truths. I would rather have Bender than Anderson. I would rather have Len than Chandler. I would rather have Harrison than Crawford. I would rather start Warren than Ariza.

Hard to argue with this. Though I'm sure someone will.

I would rather have players who are better than the lesser of two evils.

It is understandable that, after eight seasons of futility, fans set the bar so low.

That just plays into the hands of an ownership group that cares about two things -- money and ego.

I don't deny them that . . . as long as they also care about providing a proud franchise to the fans and community.

'Haven't seen it! It's been a year since the Suns were referred to as the laughingstock of the NBA.

So they begin this season by firing their GM a few games in. Scapegoat management following poor choices.

As much as I hated Bender playing, I agree with this. Except I'm a litte indifferent on the Harrison/Crawford issue, its a toss up but Harrison would have better defense.

We all would. Unfortunately, there isn't a better option this year. Again, we live in reality, not fantasy where we can wish young John Stocktons and Karl Malones into existence and onto the Suns' roster.

We thought Dragan was playing poorly. Then we bring in Anderson, whose play is showcasing the need for Bender! :)

Stockton = Okobo, Malone = Ayton. I am struck by how Ayton's jump shot looks like Malone's in style and the soft touch.

Not a big loss by any stretch. Wasn't thrilled with the pick when we made it and it appears the Suns reached in that draft.

They kind of hold the ball in front of their face and shoot it. Ayton's is smoother though, just going off of memory here. Malone had a little pause or hitch in it.

I'm curious to see whether Ayton's free-throw shooting is sustainable. 85% for a rookie big man is unheard of. Malone was a terrible free-throw shooter for his first couple of years, and never broke 80% for a season.
