Neither has Arrington.

CardinalChris said:My point Exactly. Neither JJ or Marcel play ST or can pound the ball. Now which of those two would be cut first for a RB who can do those things?
Scott MS said:Personally, I think you try to keep Shipp because he's a great football player,
Zeno said:Huh? a GREAT football player? My definition of great and yours must be miles apart.
Unless that was tongue in cheek.

CardShark said:It's not completely out of the realm that the Cards could still draft Lendale at #10. If they did that, then I would bet Shipp would be gone the day after the draft. Until they get someone better than him though, I don't see Shipp sailing away. He can still supplant Arrington as the #2 if JJ plays as soft as he did last year.
D-Dogg said:Can we trade Marcel for a draft pick?
Evil Ash said:We could try but I doubt anyone would trade for him
D-Dogg said:Then why the hell would anyone care if we cut him, if he is of no value to any other team or us.
Evil Ash said:If we draft a RB in the first round with help still needed on the OLine, LB, FS, TE, QBOTF and depth at a number of positions where we aren't deep (RB we're actually semideep now) I'll throw up
Hell why don't we draft another WR in the first round while we're at it?
CardShark said:If the consensus is that Shipp and Arrington are worthless, then why wouldn't you pick a RB up at #10. Then you have someone to develop behind Edge? If they are the BPA? I personally would prefer Vernon Davis at this point. The simple fact is that the postion players you list may not be worthy of a top 10 pick as they might already be off the board. White or Deangelo Williams might be the best available.
Evil Ash said:They have value ... its depth. Most of us just don't think that they can handle the majority of the carries
Its doubtful that Lendale would be BPA anyways
Scott MS said:He's a solid backup. I don't know why I wrote Great. I think the depth drops off significantly after Arrington/Shipp.
AntSports Steve said:Didn't Redmond get tendered as a RFA. I remember something about him not having enough qualifying years of service to become an UFA. Something about being cut in the middle of the season and a year or two not counting towards vesting.
I think he's a RFA that was tendered by the Cards. I could be wrong.
