I can see him seeing all this young talent we have and knowing he is the missing piece. I think he wants to be a great player and have his own team. I think all this only LA stuff and only caring about BBB is a reach. He's a ball player

Warren and a 2nd or Okobo would be as high as I would want to go.

Mikal would be way to much, and Jackson has shown too much promise in the last month to ditch now. It has to be Warren

Lonzo Ball would have less guaranteed years than Warren if Sarver is looking at that.

And that would be a massive overpay (then again, just the 2nd round pick is an overpay) and only help the Lakers. Just what we need...

There were targets I liked better than Dennis Smith, but I would have at least been okay with acquiring him if the price was right. There literally is not a single point guard in the NBA I want less than Lonzo Ball.

Really - so you are telling me if we trade for him you want Melton to start over him?

You are full of it.

I'd do it in a heartbeat....preferably tj
I think I'd like to trade JJ. If Ball can come here and facilitate and help spread the floor, then I like Bridges and Warrens 3 pt shooting.

I like the thought process.

The rest of Warrens game is so weak. He is likely never going to be a decent defender passer or rebounder. He is a sixth man - and he has not accepted that. Jackson's potential is so much higher, and he has improved a ton the last month.

We will extremely regret it if we trade him now, and check my post history I was down on him more than almost anyone at the beginning of the year. If you haven't been watching him lately you don't know how much better he has gotten.

IMO, Wall is Ricky Rubio... except without the ability to make free throws. I'm not trading Bridges or Jackson for that.

Ball is also in his second year and improving - Rubio has peaked.

You cannot tell me you seriously see their value as equal - because NBA GM's certainly don't.

JJ has played much better, which is why I think he's better trade bait and we wouldn't have to give up picks. We are going to have to get rid of somebody good, the Fakers won't just give Ball away.

Talent and value are different things. Ball has more value right now, but in Rubio's 2nd season he also had a ton of value... and was probably more talented than Ball.

I'm telling you that i think that is his career comparison. A good defender and passer in the open court, but a bad half court player because he can't shoot and the other team is safe to sag off him and play passing lanes... only, in Ball's case, he also can't make free throws, so in late, close games he will be a serious liability.

We aren't trading with the lakers - we are going to be in the three way deal - warren is going to the pelicans.

Warren is a useful player on a good contract - Ball's price should be cheaper due to the circumstances.

I don't want Ball here at all. I would prefer to stick with the hot garbage at the point that is Melton.

I do hate his free throw shooting though - that is an issue.

He is flawed but I still think he can easily become a Jason Kidd type player.

I'm far more concerned about his ability to function in the half court than I am his free throw shooting but I'd prefer taking the Ball gamble over any of the other names tossed around. If Kemba isn't an offseason option, Ball makes the most sense to me assuming the price is right.

I think his FT issues might be a little overblown. That number is on a total of 1 FTA per game this year. That's too small of a sample to determine if he is truly that bad. Now the fact that he is only getting 1 attempt per game is another issue in itself.

I can't imagine New Orleans taking back Kuzma, Ingram, and Warren. That's a lot of wings.

If we partake in the Davis deal I would like to get Ingram as well as PF

Would give up our first #1 protected, plus Bucks pick, okobo and warren or jackson or holmes or sth like that

Ayton
Ingram
Bridges
Booker
Ball

Now if we could also get Randle or Mirotic back with a guarantee they would sign with us - than maybe - just maybe I would consider Jackson as well - but I would prefer not doing that.

man... you'd give up our unprotected first, bucks pick and Warren/Jackson for Ball/Ingram? That seems like a LOT. And that's coming from someone who loved Lonzo coming out of college.

Well they aren't taking less for Davis than they could get. All three of those wings have trade value - maybe there is a 4th team, or they trade one of them later.

I don't like Ingram. He is not really a power forward. Randle or Mirotic would be better for our team.
