So now you are attacking HB because the guy you love in the draft has issues?
No i am attacking the double standards by some Cards fans.Mathieu was a pothead with issues and some fans slobberted over him and made excuse after excuse for himconcerning his issues.

I voted no but I want yes. The Cards haven't done what I wanted in the first round since Fitz though. What do I know.

Weren’t you all over wanting DRC? I’m pretty certain that was you

Every guy in the draft has issues. But some seem very eager to attack certain players for their own particular reasons. If you don`t like the guy because you don`t feel his game will translate to the NFL so be it.But calling someone dumb, unintelligent because they don`t talk like a polished ******** artist in crazy.

I'm a huge value guy. Draft trench players early and often to build the foundation of a winning team for years.

But quite honestly, without a legit young QB we go nowhere. Best case with Bradford is he stays healthy and comes close to what Palmer did with us. Hence that might already be very far-fetched. No Superbowl with Bradford.

When the Eagles paid a king's ransom for Wentz, they had arguably one of the worst rosters in the league. Same can be said for Fisher's Rams when they drafted Goff.

What can we learn from this? If you don't have a franchise QB, swing for one as often as possible. Hence every year! That was Keim's mantra when he became our GM.

What did Keim do though? Just one QB drafted in 5 years, who was an absolute trashy one btw. Not even a QB drafted in the earlier rounds. That's while we had one of the older starting QBs in the league. As seen with Wentz or Goff, who both had question marks and went straight into really bad teams, a good young QB can lift your whole roster to another level.

Lamar Jackson, if available at #15, is a no-brainer. I would love to draft a big guy like Vea, but even if he becomes the next Haloti Ngata, I'd still take a watered-down Mike Vick over him!

Lamar Jackson, despite being an amazing athlete for a QB, is really smart. He can put it all one the line, but most of the time he makes smart decisions. His scrambling prudence reminds me of Russell Wilson, who is really smart about his business but still making huge plays with his legs.

Wilks should know a thing or two about scrambling QBs having been in Carolina for so long, and as a DC he should also know what stress it puts on a defense. McCoy has worked well with Tebow. I'm not saying to run the triple option with Lamar, because he is a really good passer. But you can involve some elements to use him to the best of his abilities.

I would trade up for Lamar Jackson if all other major QB prospects are gone. He is by no means a surefire top 5 pick like Darnold or Rosen, but a really good QB prospect with huge upside. With Lamar it would be the same like it was last year with Watson and Mahomes. Does Keim pull the trigger to trade up a few spots, or does he miss out on really good QB prospects yet again?

I think Jackson would be the best pick for us but I don't think Keim has the balls to pull the trigger.

On the other hand our new head coach has seen how difficult it can be to deal with a dual threat QB first hand (Cam). ... so maybe he can help sway the decision making process.

I answered the poll as if it was the question for the thread title.

Will they ? No.

Should they ? Hell yes, and they won't because......................................I have no answer for you. It would be ridiculous to pass him up at 15.
Yeah, it's kind of a head scratcher at 15. They really could use long term solutions at RT, CB and WR. Can you get all three of those positions in this draft with players who are going to push the starters for their positions by pick 97? I don't think you can wait another year for any of those spots....so....QBOF might be a flyer taken on a Rudolph or Lauletta. Maybe even someone later then them.

Mayock's mock draft is airing as I type this and he has us taking Josh Rosen at 15 with Lamar Jackson also available. I don't think Rosen lasts that long and if he slips out of the top ten I see SK trying to trade up and get one of these QB's.

IMO Cards will screw up and bypass a chance at a impact playmaker. As for screwing up the job interview i doubt that. After all the Cards drafted a drug dealing pothead from LSU and some of the fans slobbered over him for years even after he was nothing special on the field.

Because everyone knows pot isn't addictive and that most athletes smoke it. Using pot isn't a red flag if you're are either responsible about it or you learned from being irresponsible about it. It's nothing like the situation with Jackson

I kinda agree... I put no for the same reason.

but saying no to drafting Jackson is a legit position.a dude like that requires a huge commitment to style change...you have to design your entire offense around what he does well....otherwise he will fail miserably.

keim looks to prefer a pocket passer. I base that not just on who he has signed to keep his coach happy but also on his long term love interest in Mike Glennon.
Jackson can be taught to be more of a pocket passer but a team has to be willing to make him ride the pine a few years until he has it down. if a guy suffers a serious injury while he is still developing there is a good chance the entire investment is lost.
but as dan Marino and carson Palmer can attest to...a pocket passer can have his legs blown out and still be an effective QB

Yesterday in the infamous words of John Gambodoro, “there isn’t a snowballs chance in hell that the Cardinals take Lamar Jackson.”

Sounds like he may not even be on their top 120 board because he bombed the interview in Indy. Same with Calvin Ridley.

Assuming nobody falls (ie: Rosen) and they don’t trade down, Keim will most likely pick either CB Mike Hughes or WR DJ Moore at 15.
