I am past the point of wasting any emotions on this crap team. I just expect the worst decision to be made.

That is kinda where I am at. No decision they make will change the fact I am a fan of the team (with the exception of a Vick signing) but I am in a state of supreme fan apathy right now...any move they make will be met with a "meh, show me"

I will be upset if Bidwill doesn't hold Graves and Whis accountable for the situation they have put themselves in regards to the QB and cooresponding lack of offensive production.

Now, I don't believe that this requires firing Whis. I will be upset if this team does not give power back to the front office in regards to personnel, and does not put a person in power who has significant scouting and personnel experience. I will be upset if the front does not require Whis to bring in an experienced offensive coordinator to implement and run the offense. I will be upset if that coordinator is not able to bring in coaches to help with the transition.

No. I will be furious, though, if the opposite happens (we keep our old GM and get rid of Whiz).

No I wouldn't be angry, to me it's the preferred course of action. (given limited information)

Get a GM that addresses the OL and QB positions first through sixth (in terms of priorities) and someone who will tell Beanie to play NFL football with cleats on instead of Air Jordan's (aka regular shoes) and I think Whiz can survive and thrive.

But of course I don't know how things have been conducted within the organization so it may be that Whiz deserves to be fired as much as Graves. When you have a deficit in QB and OL, it isn't on your OL coach, your QB coach, or your Head Coach, it's on your GM first and then everyone else. So if you don't draft OL and get 'bargain' OL in FA for not so bargain prices, and rarely at that, I tend to blame the guy who wrote the recipe, not the guy who cooked with the ingredients. Whiz and Grimm don't have the talent around them, and so the first place to fire someone is the GM. Then the new one has a year to evaluate Whiz.

Change for the sake of change usually makes things worse. You want to make the right decisions regardless of timing or public opinion. If everyone thought bs was caviar, I still wouldn't take a bite. Some people believe otherwise. I say figure out what was the actual deficit. Was it the GM, coach, or both? I say it's at least the GM, so let's start there and keep looking.

Angry Monday?

Odds (assumes action taken/announced Sun. or Mon.):

- Both Wiz and Rod sacked. - 5%

- Rod sacked, no new GM named . - 10%

- Rod sacked. New GM named. Newbie fires Wiz - 2%

- Rod sacked. New GM named. Announces that Wiz stays - 3%

- Rod stays / fires Wiz - 10%

- Rod stays/says Wiz stays - 10%

- Rod stays/defers decision on Wiz - 15%

- Michael defers decision on Rod and Wiz - 45%

Bottom line - It's highly unlikely that any decision would be made immediately after the final game and even slimmer odds that a new guy would be appointed by then and eensier, teensier odds that a new guy would be appointed who'd immediately announce that Wiz would stay. So what's to be angry about on Monday?

I won't be too angry, because I honestly don't believe he'll be fired.

I definitely think he should be. NFL coaches don't keep their job if they lose 11 out of their last 12. Especially with two long losing streaks in the two years prior. But this is the Cards we're talking about, so I'm pretty confident the Super Bowl appearance five years ago will give him another pass.

I disagree. I think if Whis or Graves are going to be fired the decision has already been made. The actual firing would be Monday. It only hurts the team to wait.

It is better than the FU's I get from K9. :D

This is a great board even if it does get a bit heated and emotional at times. I am glad that you think I am a part of what makes it worthwhile.

Report: Whisenhunt, Lovie, Schwartz all safe

According to Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole, "word around the league" is that Ken Whisenhunt (Cardinals), Lovie Smith (Bears), and Jim Schwartz (Lions) are all expected to be safe entering the offseason.
The Cardinals have at least entertained the thought of replacing Whisenhunt internally with DC Ray Horton, but may instead keep Whiz and change upper-management roles, with VP of Player Personnel Steve Keim replacing GM Rod Graves.

Hmm... "may" reads less like sourced comment and more like speculation.

No, but the vast majority of Whiz power over the roster should be removed, the offensive staff should be changed, and the new OC should have a huge say in the new QB coach, WR coach, and offensive line coach.

No more puppets like Miller or Billy Davis as coordinators.

I would also be disappointed if Keim was promoted as the GM. I want new blood, a fresh vision, and a new approach. I want someone who's background is very, very strong in the scouting.

Keim is in his 14th season working in the scouting department. I don't think you will find many with that kind of experience.

Do you really think that organization can risk losing all of the ticket sales that could result in retaining the inept leadership of the team/?

Knowing the Cardinals, it wouldn't surprise me to hear Michael Bidwill come out next week and tell the world that the only off-season change is to add a co-choreographer for the cheerleading squad! :p

Nobody outside the organization knows what's in store for AZ - all I know is that next week will be very, very interesting.
