1. KC - Luke Joeckel

2. JAX - Gus Bradley recently supported his QB by saying Gabbert would be the #1 QB in this draft. Likely pick is a defensive player

3. OAK - Carson Palmer will reportedly restructure his contract with Pryor being their QB of the future. Likely pick a DL

4. PHI - Vick has been restructured and Foles will be given the chance to compete for the starting job. Likely guess would be OT or CB (Milliner)

5. DET - Already have a franchise QB

6. CLE - Weeden had a decent second half of the season but was reportedly on the trade block. Probably the most likely landing spot for Geno to the first 6 picks ahead of us

If he drops to #7...?

I'm hoping he drops to us, desperately. I know there's question marks about his ability to push the ball deep down the field, and the question of what happened in the second half of the season to WVU, but I got to watch a lot of this kid. After watching Derek Anderson, Max Hall, John Skelton, Ryan Lindley, and to an extent Kevin Kolb not be able to hit the broad side of a barn the past few years, that completion percentage makes me salivate.

If he can get the ball to Fitz, Floyd, and Roberts, I believe they can make plays once it's in their hands.

I'll say it on the record - there is no one in this draft I want at this point more than Geno Smith.

Noted. If he's a bust, I'm sure that statement will never be used to discredit any other post you make on here. :D

Haha, I think this is the boldest comment I've ever made on here. Interestingly enough, sans Levi Brown, the Cardinals have picked the exact guy I've decided I've wanted post-combine since Fitz in 2004. We'll see if they do it again this year.

(Clearly the guys I've wanted haven't always panned out.)

Yessir!

The kid has a career comp % over 65% almost 72% last season. Thats just insane. Has a 5-1 TD to INT ration all at a division 1 school in what i consider big time football. He is a workout monster and has a great head on his shoulders it seems. I wouldn't hesitate to draft him..

On a team with the worst QB situation in the NFL and in a year with next to no starting caliber QBs in FA, when the best QB in the draft in staring you in the face at #7 how do you pass?

I honestly thought that the most athletic QB in this combine would be Manuel and Scott, but Geno proved to be hands down the most athletic QB in the draft. Combine that with the fact that he has put easily the best numbers in his career than anyone else in the draft and I think it's a slam dunk that he goes first amongst QBs. I am definitely hoping that he is there at 7 and we pick him.

Ditto, especially if it's for Eric Fisher.

(I could live with Warmack or one of the top pass rushers, but just barely.)

Couldn't even live with them when it comes to value at QB and what they can do for your franchise as a whole at just that one position.

i'll be honest, while I'm a little leery of Smith, if BA wants him, I'm all in and will be excited to see what the future holds with the kid.

Funny that I will do the same if we DO draft him. Different strokes I guess.

I dont what you see that you DONT like. The kid has everything you look for in a QB.. Success at the division one level, extreme accuracy, athletic, very high TD/int ratio..etc... his measurables at the combine as well equate to phenomenal prospect.

Andy Reid must not think he's the second coming of Donovan McNabb if he passed on him and paid through the nose for Alex Smith.

He had a rough ending to a nice college career, if he had finished strong top 5 wouldn't even be a question. But he stepped it up a good notch at the combine, I'm honestly surprised and worried that Reid would go Smith>Geno but the Chiefs are worse off than we are.

it's just weird to me that the Chiefs would go Matt Cassel all over again. That's kinda what I see this move as being. But who knows... Reid's west coast offense with Smith might be a really good fit. I just don't think his ceiling is high enough to go for two draft picks.
