Still just a little early

Need to wait a week or so till we see a couple all-star games and get the final list of juniors coming out.

Even after that, about 99% of draft talk is completely wrong until we see what happens in the first few weeks of free agency. Right now, it's just making a wild guess.

So, I guess.... Vince Young.

I think he'll come out, and drop to us because nitpicking of his passing skills will be intense. Denny will not pass on him if he gets the chance to take him. He won't draft any other QB but Young. IMO.

Coke Machine. After the success that the Patriots have had with Pepsi Machine Green hopes CM will be the next great fizzy-drink dispensing football star.

First off. 10 is a nice spot.

I would like to get D.Ferguson to play OT for us, and by the time we get to draft day he might be in our grasp. Especially since the Texans will trade out of that spot.

Beyond that I would take the best available player.

Nice position to be in though.

Why do you think the Texans will trade out of that spot? They'll riot in Houston if they don't take Bush with that pick. They already are losing fans now, that wouldn't help.

The Texans are in a tough spot. Their most glaring need is on the offensive line which drives the offense. An improved offensive line also improves David Carr, Domenick Davis and Andre Johnson who are all players that you have invested in. They have a huge need at LT and one of the best that has come out of college in years will be available to them in D'Brickshaw Ferguson. Any other the pick would be simple to make.

BUT, this year there happens to be some guy named Reggie Bush who COULD be the best player to enter the draft in years. He does have some question marks as far as size and durability but they are hard to see when he is running rampant in the NCAA. Does Reggie upgrade your most glaring need on the offensive line? No. Does he share a position with a player you just exented to a longer contract? Yes. Does he have the ability to improve all the players around him like an elite left tackle would? Maybe.

The question is whether or not the Texans can convince their fans that Ferguson is the best player to IMPROVE this team right away, and if Davis can be a number 1 running back. Tough decision for this front office to make and it might just hinge on who the new coach is and which direction he wants to go.

With the 10th pick, the Arizona Cardinals select Brady Quinn from the University of Notre Dame. (if he declares)

Remember the spot San Diego was in a few years ago? They had the number one, and it was going to be Vick and everybody was excited, but it fell through, so they traded the pick to Atlanta for the number 5 pick, which they turned into LaDanian Tomlinson, then used the top pick in the second round to get Drew Brees. Nice move.

This reminds me of the situation Houston is in. IMO, they would be far better off trading the pick, stockpiling a few picks and improving thier OLine, which would have a ripple effect on what could be a very talented offensive trio. But I see the argument that you cannot pass up on Bush, as well.

With the 10th pick in the NFL draft the Arizona Cardinals trade with Houston for the 2nd pick and draft RB Reggie Bush.

Why?

#1 New Orleans is taking Matt Leinart.
#2 Houston does not have any need of a RB, they have Davis, Wells & Morency.
#3 Houston needs O-line, WR, and defensive help, they are better off trading down and picking up additional talent.
#4 based on #3 Cards give them Calvin Pace, Bryant Johnson, our #1 this year, our #3 this year and next years conditional #2 that can turn into a #1 depending on multiple factors (i.e. what does Bush do for us, what does Pace/Johnson/the picks we give up do for Houston)
#5 Going into the new stadium the picking of Reggie Bush will add 10,000 season ticket holders just to watch him play. It's the hype that sells the tickets.

Houston can then take the best O-lineman at #10 without having to overpay at #2, pick up another 3-4 defenseman in Calvin Pace (who I think can thrive in the 3-4), a decent WR that can help thier recieving core, another player at #3 and possibly another 1st or definitly 2nd rounder next year to help them out.

Point chart wise it equals out -

#2 pick = 2600
- #10 pick 1300 = 1300
- #73 pick 200 = 1100
- Calvin Pace (18th pick 3 drafts ago 300) = 800
- Bryant Johnson (17gth pick 3 drafts ago 300) = 500
- 2nd round pick same postion 480 = 20

It's within 20 points. And if Reggie Bush ends up lighting it up they get our 1st round pick which would make it more valuable on thier side by around 200-300 points.

Is Houston trading the #1 pick to New Orleans?

I think Johnson and Pace basically have no trade value, Probably could not trade those 2 lame asses for a 7th round pick. Pace and Johnson both blow, to move up the Cards would have to deal their first and second pick this year, and maybe possibly the 1st round this year and a 1st next year to land Bush depending on the market.

I would be stoked if your planned trade actually went through, But I really think a trade would have to incude to 1st or a 1st and 2nd this year.

1-He won't.

2-He'd be picked before 10.

Ah, but it's a nice thought, eh? :)

Is it possible that 4 QB's come out of the top 10?

Leinart
Cutker
Quinn
Young

Why is everyone so certain that hes coming out when he's said he's going back?

Just say no to Vince Young.

He plays QB at a Big 12 school! NEED I SAY MORE!

First of all this year the Big 12 was a total meltdown joke, I know I watched Mizzou all year. The guy is Brad Smith with a slightly better arm.

I know Brad Smith and it would take a ton more than a slightly better arm for me to want him as my QB.

P.S. no I'm not talking about arm strength, more like the ability to hit a barn broadside from the pocket.

Yeah, I can see that. But, Young's best games came against Big 10 teams, Ohio St. and Michigan. It's not like all the good games he's had have been against Baylor and Colorado.

Well if you keep Warner for like two more years it might work but I wouldn't want him starting sooner than that and his first year starting is going to be a wash.

Texas is so simplistic in it's offense he's going to be behind for years.

He's talented, he could be huge or he could just totally bust out. I don't mind the pick but if he's on the roster I want a veteran backup to Warner.

It's probably all moot anyhow. I have a feeling Green would pick him if he could, but it's very unlikely we'd be in position to get him this year or next. I agree that, ideally, he wouldn't even get on the field in the first year wherever he goes.

He has been talking to agents for awhile now. I would say it's about 50/50 whether he comes out or not.
