oh, i chose other not seeing we could only choose from those 4. I know nothing about any of those guys, but it seems that lots of sites have us picking that Mike Johnson from GTech

I'm not a draftnik in any shape or form but if Brown is there we got to take him.
We don't need Pettigrew. Another TE that can't block?

It scares me that the Rams will get Curry. I think that man is going to be a stud for years to come. Maybe the Lions will take him.

Whats everyones obsession with Michael Johnson?

Quentin Moses was athletic as hell, how'd he turn out?

I believe well go RB and OLB/DE in the first two rounds. And supposedly there are more highly rated OLB/DE's in the Draft than RB's, I'm guessing we'll take a RB in the first and an OLB/DE in the second.

Pettigrew is a GREAT blocker. He is already twice as good as any of our other TEs. Plus, anything that helps us cut Pope is a good thing IMO.

Are you kidding? Have you ever seen him play??? He's one of THE BEST blocking TE's to come out in years which is exactly why we need him. He would be huge for our offense

Michael Johnson had a very good Junior year and was high on mock draft boards heading into last years draft. He decided to stay in school and was instantly a top-3 pick on everyone's board in the 2009 draft. I decided to watch him this past season to see what all the hyp was about and I came away with one impression -

He sucks.

I've never seen a player take more plays off then him. He wasn't even getting double teamed and the guy was half assing it all over the place. I was shocked at his lack of technique and rip moves and he's god awful vs the run.

He's not a player that Whisenhunt would use a first round pick on so I'm confident we'll stay far away from him

I've been searching on scouting reports about him. Most say GOOD but not great blocker. And this talks about character issues for assault and battery of a police officer!?!?!?

Watch one of his games and come back to me. The kid dominates at the line of scrimmage which is why he'll be a top-25 pick. He would instantly upgrade our offensive line and receiving (considering our current TE's aren't a threat at all)

Pettigrew, but I'd fine with either of those picks sans Johnson.

When healthy, I like Ben Patrick. This Pettigrew had injury problems last year with his ankle according to that site, and he had zero touchdowns last year. I think we are better off going defense or RB with our first pick.

I'll be happy if we take this Pettigrew guy, but Beanie Wells or Knowshon would be better here if available IMO.

Great? Compared to what?

The best blocking TE in years?
That doesn't say much, the man thrived in a spread offense.

If A$FN dollars are back before the draft I will be willing to bet all that I have that Pettigrew is not our pick at #31!
Any takers?

The only thing that worries me about Pettigrew is his character. If you punch a cop you're obvioulsy not very smart. However, I read that it may have been overblown so who knows (he didn't even really get in trouble IIRC)

I wouldn't worry about his ankle. If you worry about minor ankle injuries like his last year then 80% of the NFL would be red flagged. Leonard Pope's ankle injury is much different and much more serious.

He won't be our pick because he'll be off the board when we pick. I'll bet you that

Yes, I do think he is the best blocking TE to come out of the past couple drafts. Put him in any type of offense and he'll contribute.

You lumping Pettigrew in a group of "TE's that can't block" proves you've never watched him and don't understand what he can bring to the table

Another vote for Donald Brown, although Alex Mack would be ok too.

I picked Larry English. We have a great offense as it is but our D needs work. We need to improve the pass rush and our OLBs are getting long in the tooth. English can get to the QB so I hope he's there at 31, if not I say Sintim.
