Yep.

Look at Mark Glowinski of the Colts. Later round pick with the Seahawks and he sucked initially, but caught on with the Colts and now is a pretty good OL.

OL especially is a position that is usually not very well developed coming into the NFL. Some guys take 3 or 4 years to develop now since teams arent running pro style offenses in college anymore.

Justin Murray improved substantially last year. He isnt a great starter, but if the Cardinals stick with him, he could become a solid starter. Anyone remember how embarrassingly bad Massie was his rookie year? He gave up like 12 sacks. Arians didn't play him his second season, played that former Texans RT over him.

This is a great point.

Firstly Massie is massively overrated by some fans. He had one reasonable season. He gave up 27.5 sacks in 46 starts. That's 10 sacks per season average.

He only got better after he left. Which goes to show individual O line performance very much depend on surrounding talent.

Justin Murray was better last year than any of Massie's years here.

All that said his ceiling is average starter and we have the opportunity to add a potential pro bowl lever player. Which would raise the whole line up.

I am down to the following guys for #8

Simmons - hell of an athlete and fills a need(s)
Okudah - potential shut down corner
Becton - could be pro bowl RT or LT
Wills - Natural RT and day 1 starter
Lamb/Jeudy - Need a #1 WR and we don't want to pay 20m/year in FA to get one.

Offensively - we need a #1 WR and OL help...I think both of those can be filled in draft.
Defensively - as we continue to say...plenty of help available in FA where we need it this year

Brown - I just don't see it. He is strong but very limited mobility and his one trick (strength) will be neutralized by NFL OL. He may be a solid starter but not worth a top 10 pick IMO
Kinlaw - I like him over Brown but he is raw. Has the size and motor you want but needs a ton of coaching. He could really be something but too risky for us
Wirfs - I don't see him at T. If he is a pro bowl/dominate G...then you need to strongly consider that at #8 (maybe a slight trade down?). We need G's too

At the end of the day...I think a WR#1 is just too big of a need for this offense, for Kyler, and for our offensive minded HC.

I think we go WR, OL, RB with first 3 picks (because we will be spending FA money on defense)

After the Cards signed KK and drafted K1 I was expecting them to throw the ball a lot. I was expecting a lot of short passes over the middle and quick flairs to RB's. Using this formula it seemed more important to invest in good skill players and adequate lineman.

That is not what happened. The Cards ran the ball a ton and threw down field more than average as well. This approach works best with a really solid line.

Of course they need upgrades at multiple positions. Its just not clear to me which one is most important.

The people close to the team know a bit more about how the team feels about Justin Murray.

This draft is exciting because there are about 11 different players that could make sense for the Cardinals.

What I hope for is that some team falls in love with Love and trades up to get him. And Tua goes to the Skins.

All of the handwringing about drafting Murray with Rosen looks ridiculous now; the Cardinals set a precedent that other teams may follow in the future.

That means QB hungry teams might take bigger swings in the future on QBs. Years ago, we saw the Vikings take Christian Ponder and Bills take EJ Manuel. I think we will see more teams gamble on QBs with some questionable traits again.

Just know many thought he was sure fire 1st round pick a month ago. I'm for addressing OT in the 1st round so I'm ok with figuring out a way to get a WR in the 2nd (late 1st).

The Arizona Cardinals signed left tackle D.J. Humphries to a three-year extension, but that doesn't mean they won't address the offensive tackle position in this year's draft. With a loaded offensive tackle class in the first round, head coach Kliff Kingsbury can build a line that will protect his prized quarterback, Kyler Murray.

Mekhi Becton at 6'7" and 364 pounds is a rare athlete with exceptional movement skills in the run game and the ability to dominate in pass protection. His combination of length, strength and agility hasn't been seen at the offensive tackle position in the last decade. He's special as a prospect, but there are technical concerns that must be ironed out before he's ready to become a top-tier pass-blocker.

The Cardinals are willing to take that bet on a once-in-a-decade talent at the position.
