Interesting development in Carolina. Would you guys rather face PJ Walker (who the cards once tried to add to the roster) or Cam Newton?

I’m thinking facing a known commodity like Newton might actually be in their favor.

I’d rather face Newton. He’s not particularly sharp to begin with lately… Now he hasn’t played football in over two months and would have essentially one practice with that team before starting. Kind of a no brainer IMO.

No way does Cam start on maybe just one day of real practice.

If anything PJ Walker starts and if he gets hurt Cam plays. And there's no guarantee he's even active because the Jets traded for Flacco and he wasnt the backup QB.

Will be bummed if K1 isn't playing this weekend. I don't think Carolina will be as easy of an out that others are thinking without him. Plus this offense is not humming at full gear yet - K1 needs as much gametime experience as possible before the playoffs.
At least hope Hopkins plays. Not sure they are going to allow all those short passes the way the 49ers did.

I think Colt needs a healthy Wr core this week.

Would love to face Cam. He isn’t good any longer when he is prepared. He would be a mess now.

Seriously? They just signed Well to the PS then elevated him for game day. He played about 3 snaps and he's on IR already? Sheesh.

Wouldn't really mind. Cam was bad before and now he's out of game shape and in a new system so won't be any better. But as a higher ceiling.

PJ knows the system and has practice reps and a lower ceiling but higher floor.

I really have low expectations for Cam going back there. He's been in obvious decline since 2015 and was so bad with the Pat's last year that I'd rather have almost any other QB throwing the ball, and that's including people like Andy Dalton. Cam was awful.

I don't expect he's suddenly going to become early years Cam unless his issues were mental and nearly being out of the league for good has refocused his mind.

Cam has been done since his throwing shoulder injury where he tried to tackle a player (interception return) a-la Baker Mayfield. Covid seemed to have hit him even hard with Pats too, that was a significant decline in that small sample season before/after.
