I could give a rats ass unless hes doing it in games. In practice with shorts don't mean jack crap and anyone excited at this point needs to temper that enthusiasm for awhile. When I say games I mean the ones that count on Sunday's.

Your mastery of the obvious is to be commended.

Amen Shane! I've been saying the same...how many times have we seen the yearly "he's gonna be a heck of a player" in preseason before? He's got skills, now show it when the real men play for keeps.

I know how you feel Shane. I'm still emotionally scarred from going "all in" on Tom Knight and Michael Stone.

Why? Seriously, why? With all the piss poor things we have to look forward to as Cards fans (based on history) why should we deny ourselves this brief moment where we can enthusiastically look forward to having our own Troy Polamalu out there? Reality will hit us smack in the face soon enough, leave us our dreams for awhile. And do you really think we don't know that none of it matters unless he can do it in games? I'm thrilled that scouts are reportedly thrllled by this kid, I'll be even more thrilled if and when he does it for real.

Steve

Agreed.

The last few seasons have been grueling to watch, even by Cardinal standards. I don't see what's wrong with a little preseason optimism now that a new regime is in charge.

Man, it was his posting here that made me think he was the biggest idiot alive. His pimping of...was it Langston Moore over Dansby was the worst shill-idiotic-commentary I'd ever heard. And it went on and on like that.

Everything Wolfley says goes on and on and on. Never wanted someone to shut up so bad in my life. . . Cept maybe Bill Walton. . .

I normally roll my eyes at the camp hero. Last year I found all of the LaRon Byrd "Fitz Jr" talk pretty funny. But the deference between Mathieu's situation and dudes like Knight, Stone and Bird is we already know Tyrann oozes talent, the dude nearly won the Heisman as a defender, and an underclassman at that. Those other guys were nobodies coming out of college and quickly transitions to being nobody as pros.

I have no doubt Tyrann can play, my only fear is if he can keep his act together.

I also gain some odd confidence in knowing Tyrann can do all this despite being somewhat of a dunce. A lot of the guys who pick up on coach speak, know a play book right away, they look good at this stage of the game and then when everyone else catches up they fall back down to the level of their (lack of) natural ability. Tyrann is just a ball of freakish energy consuming football and player alike.

Plenty of Heisman almost winners and winners for that matter who "oozed" talent that amounted to a whole lotta crap in the big boy league. Ill hold judgement and wait till we see what he brings on Sundays.

Nothing wrong with that. There's also nothing wrong with getting a little excited by his potential.

How many of them played in the secondary?

Tyrann is exhibiting all of the ball hawking skills he showed in college. The fact that he has more picks and forced fumbles than any other player in TC does allow one to connect the dots.

He was a TO creating machine in college. He is doing the same thing in TC.

If will see your Byrd and etc. and play my Boldin Card. He was uber hyped in TC and as it turns out that was an insult to how well he actually played on Sundays. Tyrann is our next Q only this time on the D side of the ball.

This is a valid question. Most of these overhyped heisman winners/runner ups that don't accomplish anything in the NFL are offensive players. Mainly QBs like Tebow for instance.

Exactly. The last 10-15 years the Heisman winner was the most recognizable QB from a top ten team. It's been all about hype and never about how their talent would transfer to the NFL.

Of course in the 1970's the Heisman winners were RBs from the top teams. Really shows how the game has changed.

As a team they did force quite a bit of turnovers, but it still remains true that we really haven't had a true ball hawk type safety back there for quite some time. ADub and Rhodes were good and did force their share of turnovers, but they weren't really ball hawks in the way that Tyrann is. I just hope that his size doesn't get him hurt and he can stay out of trouble off the field, otherwise he is going to single-handedly force a lot of turnovers for this defense.

It has been largely forgotten, however - Rashad Johnson's ball skills were lauded coming out of College.

Doesn't when you make 18 mean when do you turn 18?

Fantastic, waiting until she is 18 really shows that he is responsible, I'm impressed.
