Worst case scenerio Mock Draft: Ingram, Floyd, Reiff, DeCastro, Keuchly gone by #13

The more I think about this situation (top targets being off the board by #13), I really, really hope the Cards "reach" for Hightower. I actually prefer him over Ingram.

Upshaw's name is resurfacing again, this time through the newest AZ Republic draft version.

I don't think that teams should avoid top programs in the first round--that's craziness. But it does make evaluations of players much, much more difficult. Almost as difficult as evaluating QBs and wideouts from gimmick offenses.

It's crazy how much these professional anylyzers/prognosticators miss on 1st round talent for one reason or another. Most contribute, but many soon fizzle out.

You have to look at the mental and physical aspects of the players.

In this reguard, I believe the Cards have been mostly successful as of late early in the drafts. Self starters and motivated individuals.

From a positional value perspective...... Hightower wouldn't have as much value as Upshaw would. I love both (Hightower is my #6) but would go with Upshaw.

I really want Ingram, Decastro, Reiff or Floyd. But in this scenario (and I am going to assume a trade-down is not feasible unless we take less than fair value), I have a new wildcard:

Whitney Marcellis.

16 sacks and 9 forced fumbles last year. I know he's a "one year wonder", but that production cannot be overlooked, and he has some serious measurables. Also, he played soccer for much of his high school career.

OT - The Origin of Name: Hightower

I still prefer Hightower.

An ancient Native American trail snaked east-west/northwest across the mid-south. It was named: The Etowa Trail (after an Indian village northwest of Atlanta.

Over time, the name "Etowa" was said to be corrupted to "Hightower" and the trail is now known throughout the region as the Hightower trail. (Quite possibly this could be linked to Timmy's or Dont'a's family history).

A little history lesson to go with your pigskin and your corn flakes.
