I agree. Without Gentry, this team would be dead in the water and I highly doubt they would have more than 5 wins without his coaching.
You've convinced me, FIRE GENTRY!

We need to clean house.
Let Sarver Babby and Gentry go.
What's wrong with Gentry? Wouldn't you agree that the Suns' defense has gotten quite a bit better under his watch, and that he is making every attempt to develop what little young talent he has?
Gentry is not a title caliber coach IMO. He showed last season that when he has made up his mind it takes a mack truck to move it. He stuck with Robin too long as some of the lineups that were not working.
He might be the right coach for this bunch. However, if the team becomes a contender again, I think we need a better caliber coach then Gentry. I am not opposed to seeing what he can do with a real team by any stretch....I just don't see him as that caliber of a coach.
non-sense
1. The Suns did not underachieve last year.
2. They overachieved the year before with Lopez as a main contributor
3. When Lopez struggled, Gortat played starter minutes regardless of being the starter or coming off the bench. The Suns record actually did not improve overall with Gortat starting.
Leave it up to you Slinslin to try and turn a Gentry post into a "Lopez rules" and "Gortat" sucks thread.
LOL. Pathetic. I have proved you wrong time and time again with this nonsense. The Suns are light years ahead in so many center statistics with Gortat it's not even debatable. The Suns problems go way beyond the center position that for you to continue to spew this nonsense is crazy but expected.
Nash is proof positive that you can have one of the best players in a position, still lose and still suck.
P.S. Your going to give Lopez credit for team overachieving in 2009-2010 season? Really?? All you have to to do is look at his stats to see we overachieved despite Lopez. He was giving us 8.4 points and 4.9 rebounds. There were 26 centers scoring more and 44 centers rebounding more that year. You really want to hand your hat on Lopez being a primary reason for overachieving? Your right.....we couldn't have gotten that from any other scrub.
The only thing you proved so far is that you can't interpret advanced stats and once again right now that you can't properly read.
+1The thing that bothers me the most is the apparent lack of any kind of plan or vision. All franchises have rebuilding years but there is usually some sort of plan.
Do they think they can make the playoffs?
Are they positioning themselves for a decent draft pick?
Are they targeting specific free agents?
Are they developing young players?
Are they exploring deals that will improve the team?
I have no idea how to answer to any of these questions.
And the Nash situation is excruciating to read about. Front office won't deal him unless he asks, he doesn't want to go unless THEY ask, blah blah blah....
Sounds like an old couple that hates each other but is too tired and lazy to do anything about it.

So, you want to keep Blanks and get rid of Gentry? Can't say I'm with you.
I like Gentry and all but he keeps talking about the playoffs. We are not going to make the playoffs.
The Suns defense has to do with Elston Turner. They signed him to be the defensive coordinator.
Well said.I don't see what that has to do with his coaching. He's discharging whatever PR responsibilities are handed down to him by the front office. He's already said that he's going to try to coach this year's team to as many wins as possible, but I don't hold that against him: It's his job.
So Gentry gets no credit for bringing Turner in, empowering him to teach the players, or incorporating his ideas into Gentry's own system?

I don't know much about Blanks.
