Your point has nothing to do with my point. :D

I'm not the one saying we have the worst unit in the league, I think our ILBs are pretty good, including Dansby who I think still is a pretty good player given all the m2m Bowles is asking these guys to do.

Glad I asked because I did miss your point. ;)

The thing I noticed is that the defense made adjustments after half-time and played a much better game in the second half. I never really noticed that with Horton last year. The defense was more consistent with Horton, but that was in the latter half of the season. Plus they did what BA asked them to do. They finished the game.

I think once these guys get a few games under their belts, they will be consistent also. I think Dansby is instrumental in helping them gain an attitude. Dockett and Campbell need to step it up and get more pressure on the QB. Otherwise they played a good game today.

Dang. Our guys finished the game. Amazing. I thought sure they would all go home after the 3rd quarter. :D

Why are you bashing last year's defense? Is it going to make this year's team any better? We had a great D last year. No need to try to make this year's defense look better by bashing last year's team.

IMO, Dansby was much better today than last week. Is it that he's adjusting to his role or was it playing on turf last week that made a difference?

Calling them consistent means I was bashing them? That's a new one on me.

Yes, without Washington our LB corp is very limited athletically. The issue is we have too many of the same types of players. Acho and Alexander are very similar as are Brinkley and Dansby. In the end, we need more athletes at OLB and S though our depth will be great once we have upgraded. Replace Bell, Alexander, Johnson and Brinkley and we should be good.

The only thing I do know is it would be criminal if the Cardinals failed to upgrade the pass rush while they have Mathieu, Peterson, Washington and Campbell on this roster.

Our ILBers are very good if not great, especially when DWash comes back.

OLBer, okay, we do suck. I'd be fine if Acho was our depth guy and we had two in front of him. Absolutely need to acquire two OLBer's next offseason.

Drew Brees is gonna make them look silly next week. But TB is a dumpster fire so if we can end up 2-2 and then DWash comes back?

You are forgetting how good and how much ground that guy covers. Hell more then make up for the other guys and well get our LBs to be a top 15 unit. Guy is that good,

When Daryl effed up I said 2-2 would be amazing. If we can beat the Bucs in two weeks we should be okay.

Karlos makes that pick and this isn't a thread. Hell I thought he had it watching from the stands until Megatron was almost 30 yards downfield. That's how close we were to 7 points total from the lions offense. These guys have their flaws but they are pretty good as a whole with our outstanding DBs behind them.

Great play call by Bowles because LOS was in position to make the pick but just gotta tip your hat to Stafford and CJ.

The Cards defense is going to struggle all year. They have a terrible LB unit. Alexander is a special teams player. Brinkley is a backup on most teams. Dansby, I love the guy, but he is a backup level player at this point in his career. Acho, is just not that good. He's a fringe NFL player.

Both teams the Cards have played so far have exploited the their LB's with short passes and that will likely continue all year. The Cards LB's lack speed and aren't good tacklers. DWash will help but he's not going to be able to compensate for the others lack of playmaking ability.

Sorry, but your're not even close on this one. While our OLB's are not anywhere near ideal, the ILB's are near league tops, (and they look to get better when D-Wash returns). Thus far our LB's have played the run better than most throughout the league, and the tackling improved greatly from last week after BA gave attention to it. (That in itself is a huge improvement from a Whiz coached team).

Granted, our OLB's lack ideal speed to rush from the edge, but they possess the strength to set the edge against the run, and Bowles did make half time adjustments that helped preserve a win. The lack of speed is not the players fault, (you can't teach speed). This defensive unit has improved each game so far, and our staff gives reason to believe that this improvement will continue as they gain experience in the scheme. For such a terrible unit, they played pretty well this week, giving up only 49 yards rushing, and holding Detroit to 21 points.

Yesterday Dansby did not play like any backup I have seen.

I went to the Manning Bowl.

Our LBs are way better than the Giants, and that's not just because Peyton was eating them alive this week. We have good ILBs (especially with DWash), and below average OLB, but to sit here and say they are the worst in the league is wrong.

Oh, and have you watched all the other linebackers in the league? Or do you just not like ours, and so are assuming the other 31 teams are better?

Yeah... They have great linebackers in Washington.

Our linebacking corp is one of the least athletic in the NFL. That isn't to say they are bad, but it is saying they are limited in ways they can't change. Getting Washington back helps, but consider that running a 3-4 is about getting more athletes on the field and we just dont' have the athletes for it to be optimally effective.

I cannot figure out why Kevin Minter isnt starting.

He was a 2nd rounder. Thats a diet 1st round pick. Equal talent, half the ego, and twice the motivation.

DWash was a 2nd rounder. Minter is not a depth guy. He was drafted to be a cornerstone of this defense on equal footing with Daryl and PP.

I wonder if hes had terrible practices? The LBs starting now are awful, so I cant imagien hes THAT bad. He was a stud in college and hes supposedly an extremely intelligent guy.

I want Minter to start. I think hed be a HUGE upgrade
