Interesting topic. A lot of people lined up under center to QB this team some great(Kurt Warner/Neil Lomax), some pretty good(Carson Palmer/Jake Plummer) and some dreadful. This thread is to see who was the most dreadful. I listed 9 really bad QB's for this team in a poll and the obligatory "other" in case I missed some or someone you thought was the worst. Well, here are your 9 + 'other':

Derek Anderson
Max Hall
Matt Leinart
Tom Tupa
Dave Brown
Kent Graham
Stan Gelbaugh
Jay Schreoder
Jeff Blake
Other

Leinart based on what we spent on him, what we thought he was and what he turned out to be.

That list makes me sick to my stomach.

Kind of like picking which way you want someone to torture you.

And there's so many to chose from, ugh.

It would be easier to say who was the best of those QB's than to say who was the worst. A few of those guys didn't start enough games to be considered - Brown, Hall, & Tupa. Gelbaugh played due to injury to a starter also. So it comes down to DA, Blake, Graham, Leinart, & Schroeder. I would have to say that DA was the worst! Not only was he pathetic, but he was unlikeable too. Blake would look decent at times, but was the king of the pick 6. Graham was a likeable guy who had some ability, but no touch on his passes. The best would have to come down to Leinart or Schroeder. I'd have to give the nod to Schroeder. He did take the Skins to an NFC Championship Game.

Max Hall because he had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Anderson was terrible but you could say he had a arm, though he could not hit anything with it. Max Hall had moxie, or rather we gave him that attribute because we felt he had to have something...Hall didn't have that either. His passes over 20 yards where painful to watch, if you could even call them passes lol

Considering what we gave up to get him, what we paid him, and what we actually got out of him, Kevin Kolb should be first on the list.

Do you think Hall would have had a much better career after the blueprint of the read option attack? Assuming he never took a solid hit of course.

I'm sure this has been debated as another square peg / round hole Whiz stubbornly refusing to alter his "system".

Interesting, people seem to remember the recent the most. I agree DA sucked, but he did have a good year in Cleveland. I would rate the Stoney Cases, Tom Tupas and Stan Gelbaughs lower. Anyway, hope the Cards learned their lesson. Never sign a guy that went 2/17 for 23 yards in a game the year prior.

Based on playing time, years he was here & how bad they sucked IMO, I'm saying John Skelton. DA was horrendous, but at least he showed for 1 year in Cleveland he had some talent, though not much.

I don't know because Hall had one of the weakest arms I ever saw being asked to run an NFL offense of any kind in my opinion :)

Have you ever thought that the reason we didn't draft Wilson was because the Hall experiment was such a disaster?

I recall this board laughing so hard before our first game of the season against that "midget". I still don't know how we won that game.

I don't know how Dave Krieg got left off the list. He did have the controls for an entire awful season during year 2 of buddy ball. The run run pass punt offense.

To me the fact that Derek Anderson had one good year in Cleveland has NOTHING aT ALL to do with how he did as the starting QB in Arizona. Not following that logic at all. The fact that he did well there ADDS to how much he sucked here if anything...

Hard to get on Case and Graham. Case, Graham and Plummer were sacked 78 times in 1997 and Leland McElroy was the leading rusher!!!!

Derek Anderson sucked but he was nowhere near as bad as Lindley/Skelton/Hall.

The worst by measure of money and time wasted are Leinart and Kolb.

For the record, I endorsed wanting to draft Wilson. The guy did have a good arm and his completion ratio in college was better than Luck or RG III. I do not think any NFL scout confused Wilson's arm as being of the same pop warner caliber as Hall... his height was the issue

Doesn't he still hold the record for most fumbles by any player in the NFL regardless of position, the guy had tiny hands and he was a QB of all things lol
