I know I know, hypothetical, never going to happen, etc

BUT

would you?

it would have to include filler to work under the cap (this means Mr. Banks), but the question remains.

for the record, i'd say yes. for age difference and defense.

only if we traded DA for Phil also because DA needs Nash to make his system work.

Hypothetically though, if our team was:

Kobe
Raja
Marion
Amare
Marks

with Phil coaching them in the triangle, with Barbs, Boris and Hill off the bench, within a year, it would kill people. Defensively, that team would be nails and offensive in the half court (playoffs) no one could stop them.

i know this is gonna come as a shock to y'all, but i agree with cheese.

the team would have to jettison dantoni, but they'll have to do that when nash retires anyway. and i don't even think it'd need to be phil to take that team to a championship.

i mean,

kobe
amare
marion
hill
barbosa
bell
diaw

c'mon . . . kobe played with shaq, but never with THAT MUCH talent.

It'd have to be Kobe for Nash, Marion, LB at the core of a trade. I don't think Lakers would do anything less.

Seriously, you wouldn't even need to play the games. Just hand the trophy to the Suns on opening night.

I hate Kobe more than any player in the league and love Nash, but I would take that in a second. Like Ouchie said, that team would be unstoppable.

in one of those hypothetical if I were building a franchise deals - i'd take kobe at this point in their careers - nash doesn't have that many years left in his tank

As much as I hate Kobe and like Nash, I might have to agree
