Michael Floyd is a Minnesota native and is heading into the last year of his rookie contract. He's the kind of player it likely will take for the Vikings to trade Adrian Peterson.

I think that with such a deep pool of WR talent in FA and in the draft, and with BA&SK being as high as they are on Jaron Brown, this is a trade they could consider. What do you think?

Floyd is the future. Peterson is the past.
The time for AP to have joined this team is 2007, not now.
If he comes as a free agent, we hold our nose and say fine, but not give up a major asset.

If the 49ers sign Dockett I would return the favor by signing Iupoti and Crabtree. As much as I would love to have AP I would rather trade a draft pick than Michael Floyd. He is in his prime and the next five years will be his best.

In a heartbeat especially if we can go out and grab Jaelen Strong, DGB, or Philip Dorsett.

No way. Too many good RB options available. I think Floyd brings a lot to the table.

No.Did you even consider the PR flack you would get?AP was a tremendous talent but he will be 30 years old and has averaged almost 300 carries a season and has had 2 major knee injuries and he will make 12 million dollars..Too many negatives.

Yes. I'd rather trade Floyd for AP and then draft Strong/Green-Beckham than to be without him.

I'm an AP fan but I would not do that trade. I would rather just add AP without taking away from the existing group.

Not at this stage. I think AP has 1 or 2 more years left in him

Tough call. Not at Peterson's current salary. He'd have to reneg his deal. Don't think it happens.

Ellington is a good back. He just needs to have 20 or less touches to keep him healthy. We need a very good tough back between the tackles who hopefully has a little speed and vision as well. There are plenty of choices in the draft, imo. Go young.

Another guy who is a definite option is Todd Gurley for our 1st Rd. pick. I think Baltimore is salivating at the chance of getting him. He'd be ready to roll by game 4 me thinks. By that time we could use a boost, and he could be BIG impact down the road. Dallas also has it's eyes on Gordon. Is he a bigger Emmit?

I don't think so. I think they were very happy with Forsett, especially down the stretch.

Also, any deal would need a restructure of AP's contract as you discussed.

Forsett was solid, but I don't see him as the longer term answer and a FA.

Anyway, Gurley has everything to be a Leveon Bell type impact back. How would you like someone like Bell on this team?

Hell yes!!!!!!!! Floyd is nothing special. Easier to find a Floyd than an AP. There are 5 receivers in first round better than Floyd.

Gurley and Gordon can both be had in the 1st. Two 21 yr. old backs with tremendous upside. Put on O line in front of them.

I really like Gurley but I'd take Tevin Coleman over Gordon.
