Because of my heart condition, I'm forced to generally tape games instead of watching them live. Unless we're up comfortably, which is NEVER. I then keep peaking at the score on my phone, which truthfully, is probably more stressful. My phone had sent me an alert that the Bills had scored with 34 seconds left, so I was already cussing up a storm. And the texts between my sons was laced with capital letter F Bombs. I checked the score one last time time & we were on the Buff 43 with 11 seconds left. Then my youngest son, who's at college, calls me screaming at the top of his lungs to turn the TV on. Funny that my older son Justin didn't call me sooner, because he's the true Cardinal lunatic in the family. But, after Buffalo scored, he had thrown his hat & phone down & went outside to cool off. Needless to say, I then watched the play like 25 times over & over again. My wife was getting bored by now, so I had to remind her that in my lifetime of being a Cardinal's fan (56 years), I had never seen a Cardinal Hail Mary. At that moment, I could envision both my parents jumping up and down in Heaven celebrating too!!

As you know, being a Cardinals fan is a curse. He may have caught it live on his phone. He'll no doubt elaborate once he sees this. He had to leave the house or his kids would have been traumatized for life by his actions & vocabulary.

OMG PA, your sons sound like me! Hat slamming, phone throwing, etc. What's crazy is that I had to run from my basement, to upstairs because my cat was on timeout in my shed, and I couldn't open the door. I threw my chair to the side and ran with no shoes on upstairs screaming the whole time. You can hear me yelling as I approached the door. LOL!

PACardsFan, a less intense viewing of the game for me (when I’m not home and don’t have access to live tv Cards games is to follow the game on ESPN’s game cast. It’s current and somewhat specific as to what happened on the play, but without the live action of watching the plays.

I can still get upset, but not near as much as when actually watching the game. I am not necessarily an ESPN fan, but find this is the next best thing (for me) of keeping informed, although I do still have to turn it off at times.

Just to clarify...

My mother was visiting to see the kids and because she was there, instead of watching the game in the basement as I typically do, I was watching it in the living room so I was still able to kind of hang out with her. When we went down at 34 seconds, I did throw the hat and had to get out of the house. Mom couldn’t hear the sh*t that was rolling off my tongue. Once I got outside, I pulled my phone out to suffer through the loss as I walked to my shop on the back of my property. The game was on locally though so it was blacked out on the ticket which meant I had to go to nfl.com’s feed which was like 30 seconds behind. After Fitz’s grab on the sideline showed on my phone, my sweet and subdued 66 year old mother comes flying out of the house screaming at the top of her lungs. Thinking something happened to one of the kids, I dropped my phone and started sprinting to the house. Upon getting to her, I realized she was say the cardinals won. I was like “huh?” Lol. I thought she just didn’t understand the game. She never watches them with me. I walked inside, saw what happened and started shaking all my kids. Couldn’t figure out what happened to my phone either for like twenty minutes.

OMG C, not the delay??!!! I was burned like that when we beat GB in the wild card on the Fitz shovel. I was a few seconds delayed and had went to the bathroom, pausing live action. I came back and fast forwarded because I was so nervous, but went too far and went past the play where Carson found Fitz for the rumble through the Packers. My drunk ass started crying when I saw us at first and goal getting ready to punch it in. One of great regrets that I missed one of Fitz's best plays ever live.
