3 years ago, I started preacing that this team had turned the corner and was on the way to becoming a winning franchise. I was practically laughed off the board. This past season we went to the Superbowl.
In the past, every bad thing that happened to this team was blamed on the front office. Now that we are moving forward, no one wants to give the FO any credit. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have Whis. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have Grimm.
Over the past 5 seasons, starting with the Green era, our drafting has gone from just plain horrible to one of the better teams at drafting. We've built up a core of players who believe in themselves and each other. We've managed to hold on to most of our top players and have enough talent to get to the Superbowl. All of this has come about since M Bidwill stepped in and RG was given more authority.
This isn't just a one shot season we are talking about here. It's been a steady progression of this team always moving forward for the past 5 years. I see no reason for this team to regress. We have the same people who built this organization still running it and the two main cogs still coaching it. We finally have an organization that understands football and what it takes to win. Are they frugal? Absolutely, just like Pittsburg or New England. They don't have the money to throw around like Jones or Snyder, so they have to be smarter. They are and this past season has proved that.
This is why I'm not worried about what is happening and how this off-season is being handled. I've followed this team faithfully since 1962 and believe me, the team that took the field for SB 43 was the best Cardinal team I've ever seen. Just keep up the good work FO.
