It seems to me that this should be a big area of concern, and I'm surprised that the team hasn't addressed it. Some possibilities:
1. BA really likes Byrd and tried to light a fire under him with his criticism.
2. CP has alerted the team to a Raider WR, who he thinks will be cut.
3. Is Steve Breaston still a FA?
4. BA and the staff really likes a few of our WR's who are flying under the radar.
Any of the above make sense?

There are 13 WRs on the roster right now according to azcardinals.com

I would hope there are at least 2 more besides Fitz,Floyd, and Roberts who can play.

Can anyone fill me in on the two home boys, Dan Buckner and Kerry Taylor?

Also Jarrett Dillard who started 5 games for the Jags in 2011. Was he hurt or just playing in 2011 because the Jags had nothing?

I am not too concerned, WRs #4 & 5 aren't a huge par of the offense anyway...maybe they will combine for 20-30 receptions at most. From the sounds of it Housler will be a bigger target in the offense too which may reduce their impact even further.

Our top 3 are quality. The rest is up for grabs.

we have 3 good receivers and a deep threat tight end. Sometimes you use a 4th and very rarely use a 5WR formation.

Sure if one of the big 3 get hurt you need someone to step up but I dont think WR depth is a concern at all.

Not a concern? Only if no one gets hurt. And that's a BIG IF.

In 2008 when Boldin was out Jerheme Urban had 34 receptions. If he could do that I'm not too worried about finding a #4.

In 2011 our #4-5 WRs had 7 total receptions. But Zeno is right it has usually been around 20-30 catches or 10%.

Besides we also have Patrick Peterson. :D

Byrd, Gill, and Swope are probably the inside candidates for the 4th and 5th receiver positions.

I would have said Swope was a lock for the #4 WR spot after the draft but after reports about his still having problems with concussions my guess is he is a likely candidate for the IR at this point. Let him rest a year to clear the cobwebs.

Ummmm how many teams in the NFL have 4 and 5 truly quality WR's

This is a case of complaining for the sake of complaining...

Yup. Most teams dont have near as good of a top 3, let alone a 4 and 5.

Yeah. This offense is crippled if anything happens to Fitz, but the drop-off from Year 2 Michael Floyd to Andre Roberts in a Contract Year, and from Andre Roberts to Whoever Wins the #4 WR Job, are fairly marginal.

The Lions are equally crippled if anything happens to Megatron. The Bengals are crippled if anything happens to A.J. Green. That just happens when you have an elite WR.

Our backup punter is terrible, we need to bring in a new one.

That can also be said for our long snapper, and kicker too. So much to worry about and so little time to worry. Problems everywhere you look.

Four or five WR's? Not sure this year, but last year GB had Jennings, Driver, Jones, Cobb and Nelson. Not too shabby. And keep in mind the team did draft a WR, even if he now has health issues. My point being the team thought we needed a 4th WR.

We'd also just lost a 4th WR in Early Doucet. He's still available, as are many other free agent WR who are perfectly cromulent. The issue is that there's no reason to pay a veteran to play special teams when you can get almost identical production plus upside from a young guy.

K9, true about ST play. But if he has to play because one of the top three is injured, well that's another issue.

WR is a about as solid as it can get. Housler will lineup as a wr sometimes and if we use 2 te sets it will mean less WRs.

This is true. Only one or two teams have a decent 4th WR like Ginn in Carolina or Shipley in Jax.

San Diego is the only team that really good depth beyond #3 IMO.

Danario Alexander, Vincent Brown, Malcom Floyd, Keenan Allen, Robert Meachem, Eddie Royal. Not to mention having Gates at TE.
