Brick by brick.Wilks went from head coach in NFL to Missouri DC in 36 months or so. That is some hard landing man.
Just shows how much MB has to learn as an owner.Wilks went from head coach in NFL to Missouri DC in 36 months or so. That is some hard landing man.
Yep. Another good lesson is being my drinking buddy doesn't qualify someone for being GM.Just shows how much MB has to learn as an owner.
Brick by brick.
Time will tell how much longer Keim is our GM, but it’s extremely pathetic that people on this board continue to bring up “drinking”. I thought alcoholism was a disease? Maybe we should treat other coaches with diseases like cancer with disdain? I‘m sure NOT. Rest assured, if and when the Cardinals fire Keim, he’ll be rehired sooner rather than later. And hiring AW will probably not be the answer. As long as the Bidwill’s own this team, we’ll be unhappy far more frequently than we’ll be happy.Yep. Sad, but trueI used to say that about graves. It is the way of the cardinals fan.
That was not the thrust of my comment. Drinking buddies, pals, chums, etc. They're known to be drinking buddies and extremely friendly. I am a therapist at an inpatient D&A treatment facility for veterans, so I tend not to go after Keim personally for his drinking problems. I definitely criticize him for it in his role as a GM, but not on a personal level.Time will tell how much longer Keim is our GM, but it’s extremely pathetic that people on this board continue to bring up “drinking”. As someone who struggles with alcohol himself, I have a major problem with the kind of DUI he got, and when he got it. It's no shock that Arizona has some of the strictest DUI rules there are, and he got an extreme DUI on 4th of July, probably the peak of enforcement year round. It makes me question his decision making.Time will tell how much longer Keim is our GM, but it’s extremely pathetic that people on this board continue to bring up “drinking”. You have no idea if that’s the case. To try to associate his DUI with the job he’s done as GM is crap. I‘ll wait to see how this season goes before I put a noose around his neck. When GM’s don’t eventually win, they get fired. My wife’s family is loaded with alcoholics that have done well in their professional lives. I try not to personally attack him for that, but I do genuinely wonder if the decline in his performance has been caused to some degree by alcohol abuse. I certainly know there's been times I've had to look myself in the mirror when it comes to work and say "Solar, you're prioritizing the party life over doing your job. It's time to go dry for a while." Obviously, I'm not privy to the answer of whether or not it's actually causing him problems, but his decline seems to coincide with that.
Well, I was trying to say I'm not sure, but there seems to be a correlation. His DUI happened around the same time things declined for the organization. You have no idea if that’s the case. And I'm not calling him an alcoholic, but there's at least some anecdotal evidence we've heard to see that he's abused alcohol in the past.
Bidwill and Keim are joined at the hip when it comes to decision-making, from what I gather, and Mikey isn't firing himself.
Ergo: It's KK who is on the actual hot seat.
We have criminally ignored the CB position and the team seems to be praying that spit and baling wire will do the trick. If they go 9-8, sneak into the playoffs and win a game... that buys everyone another year.
Anything less than that and Keim and Kliff have gotta go.
Keim has obviously struggled in the draft. What frustrates me even more is how often we don't fix obvious holes. Last year our lack of depth on defense was a major issue... as was our play at the corners. We answered that problem by getting more top heavy and letting our best corner walk. Granted, I would have let PP walk too, but I would have looked for a more sure fire replacement than hoping for CB1 caliber play from either a 4th round pick or a guy who hasn't played in 2 years and is hoping the glue on his ACLs is dry.
Kliff... well, he either is a brilliant guy who has never had the talent he needed at any level... or he is a shining example of how far a good personality and a 100 megawatt smile can take you in life. He has the next 4 months to show us.
Bingo!Sell the team.
I think he said no to an interview after we fired Wilks...Eric Bieniemy of the Chiefs I would take in a heartbeat if KK is fired.
I recall the snub as well.I think he said no to an interview after we fired Wilks...
... But Duce Staley is supposed to be a good candidate who could be REALLY interesting.
And I know for a fact that MB made the final decision on Wilks. KK may or may not be the answer, but Keim owns that decision.
The 2018 mess rests ENTIRELY on Wilks’s ineptitude as a HC. Keim gave him enough talent for us to be much better than what we ended up being. Playoff good? No! But significantly better than 3-13. There’s a reason why a HC gets fired after one season. It certainly wasn’t because the GM didn’t do his job. Otherwise, Keim would have been fired with him.and who put Wilks’ atrocious offensive staff together? Keim took credit for that and he’s the one who solved our QB opening that year with Sam Bradford, Mike Glennon then gave up picks for Josh Rosen. MB might have been the final call on Wilks, but Keim pretty much took a big fat dump on everything else that off-season.
