Here were the wide receiver options.

Old/washed/injured guys: Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, Deandre Hopkins, Mike Williams, Brandin Cooks, Stefon Diggs, Mecole Hardman, Tyler Boyd, MVS, Nelson Agholor, Tyler Lockett, Robert Woods, JuJu, Tim Patrick,

Guys in their prime: Elijah Moore, Nick Westbrooke, Noah Brown, Olamide Zacheus, Van Jefferson, Tyler Johnson

Talented locker room cancer: Dionte Johnson

With the Zay Jones resigning I'm guessing we're not adding anyone else.
I’d take nearly everyone of those guys over Zay… my goodness

I'm ok with this if this is the depth chart

1. MHJ
2. FA/Draft
3. Micheal Wilson
4. Zay Jones/Quez Watkins
5. Greg Dortch/Quez Watkins
6. Palmer/Weaver

Really? What stood out with him in your eyes?
Nothing. But how often did we even have 4 WRs on the field? Then even if we did, it was still almost certainly going to McBride or MHJ. I think Higgins got more targets.

Seriously. And for $4.4 million?

We doubled his pay from last year, somehow, for some reason. Why make this move before free agency even begins?

I'm telling you it will be worth it as I expect Jones to double his output from last season going from 8 catches to 16 catches. It's all math dude.

Why are people complaining or praising this at all?
He’s a depth roster guy who will have minimal impact at all this year.
Complaining because it's a waste of money and a roster clog. I'd have liked to see us spend this money on a different wide receiver.

I firmly believe there's plenty of cheaper guys who are better.

I am doing neither. There is no one out in FA that enchants me with the possible exception of Brandon Cooks. It is an unexciting re-sign. Doesn't move the needle.
Give Petzing what he wants but I don't see much impact either

Well, you have MHJ and Mcbride that K1 is throwing to. It doesn't matter who is #3, 4 or 5. K1 doesn't use his progressions anyway.
That is what I have been trying to say. Pulling this out of my butt, (but it is probably correct) I would say no one ran fewer 4WR sets than we did last year. 5 WR sets? I can't remember even one play. Dortch was #3 and he didn't get a lot of looks. A 4th WR on this team is basically waiting for injuries to have a chance

But it would be nice to have a 1b or true #2 WR as many elite offenses have nowadays.

Maybe we don’t run 4 Wr sets because we don’t have 4 good receivers.

Really think so?
Well, who on this team strikes fear into the hearts of defenses?
MHJ? Not yet
Wilson? Ummmm. No
Jones….ugh
Dortch… here and there
McBride. Yes but not a guy that’s going to break off a 60 yarder.

Probably would help if we had a qb that could read a defense.
