He was a good rotational piece. He was a player playing on a minimum contract making the most of it.

Sad to see him go, but at the same time definately not irreplaceable.

I'm guessing that Monti didn't want to re-sign a player at the buttom of the roster at this point with free agency going on and a draft heavy on DL.

BIM: definitely ;)

So all the players that went off the board the last two days are still available? It started Monday. Signings can’t happen until today.
deals cant be done until today..as evidenced by Milton Williams agreeing to a deal with the Panthers,...then two hours later agreeing to a better deal with the Patriots.
until there is ink on the contract the deal is not done.

Milton Williams never agreed to a deal with the Panthers. Reports were that he was working to "finalize a deal" with them.

Let’s see how many deals from Monday and Tuesday aren’t finalized. Won’t be many if any.

the room is pretty full. I liked Lopez,...but other guys are already under contract and we should have a top rookie that needs that roster spot soon.
It isn't though. There are 5 DL players on the roster who have played snaps. Nichols. Jones, Robinson. Stills. Stille.

That's it.

Bilal Nichols was bad before the injury but is there any shot Justin Jones bounces back and becomes a competent rotation guy?
I think it is fair to expect those players to revert to their mean. My point was more about highlighting the DL room is not full at all. We can disagree about the value of each individual player, but their are multiple roster spots open, and I would disagree that it was cost-prohibitive for the Cardinals to throw 4.7 mil for Roy Lopez to ensure a more competitive room.

Just have to hope Monti is aggressive and adds Dalvin Tomlinson today.
Yes that would be a good signing. I was hoping for the Cardinals to upgrade the DT/NT position but most of the ones that I was interested in have signed elsewhere already. Dalvin would be a solid pickup and would again give the Cardinals flexibility in the draft with their first and second round picks.

I've posted this before but if I'm Monti I'm going after Mekhi Becton. I think Becton would fill one of the biggest needs left on the Cardinals and at age 25 would solidify the RG spot for several years.

Yep, it's who I want. But he was reluctant to move inside with the Jets. Which is hilarious because he goes to another team, does, and kills it.

I hope he doesn't want to go outside again.
