I think it could get reduced but if he did physically assault someone I don't think it should. In response to dallas radio... when I can I still listen to the ticket in Dallas. For me the only north Texas sports station worth listening to going back to the mid 90s. And they seem to take a fair approach with their coverage. Granted they don't engage with callers much anymore like they used to. but it's hard for even the most loyal cowboys fan to defend Elliott's actions in this offseason. Obviously now this is a legal battle if the cowboys choose to fight it.

If that was true, Demarco Murray would have had a great year after leaving Dallas.
I saw the comments above but that's still a fair point going back to the year he spent in philly. I think it is clear the year after he left that the cowboys missed demarco and he missed the cowboys. Now both parties seemed to have recovered(as far as last season goes) The cowboys backs like McFadden and Morris will get their yards they just won't be as dynamic or explosive with TDs and they will struggle more on third downs where you need to move the chains on an obvious running down.

You're correct. They did.
You're correct. They did.
I think they did a fair investigation. It's important to remember he was no longer playing for the buckeyes so what would they have to gain anyway aside from losing their reputation as legitimate officials?

Based on what I read with her testimony... I don't think they would have gotten a conviction in court. That is why they elected not to charge him imo.

The NFL does not have to play by the same set of laws. They let the investigation drag out for 13 months for a reason. and throughout that period Elliott engaged in behavior that brought a black eye to the NFL. They could have closed the investigation quickly and gave him a short suspension but in my mind they were keen on letting the story play out based on public opinion... Elliott could not stay out of the press for the wrong reasons hence the punishment now. In the end it doesn't matter for me. If he assaulted someone he deserves the suspension just as ray rice or the kicker from the giants did. And the NFL got both of those wrong with short suspensions.

I'm not perfect either but one thing I have never EVER done was raise my hand to a woman. Believe me, that's no small task if you knew my ex-wife.

So, she's worthy, but you're the bigger man? Classic dude answer. Misogyny in the form of humor.

I wonder if there will ever be another sports radio/tv/media program that will actually talk about football and sports, and not be a full time sports tabloid outlet.

I have heard more about Elliot than all the football talk/news combined over the last two weeks. You would think the start of preseason and position battles would be talked about. Unfortunately it is all Elliot, all the time, 24/7.

There is no escape anymore. Sports talk/news is no better than any other thing in our society, it is just death, poor behavior, and concentrating on the horrific behavior of a vast minority of people in this country.

There is no football talk, there is no escape.

My only take on this, is this will not factor that much to the Cowboys, their offensive line is going to allow whomever is back there to put up huge stats, and yardage.

Until I see some evidence outside of the words of proven liar I will continue to believe this is an egregious usurpation of due process (and yes, the NFL has to employ due process of some sort) and a power move to see just how for Goodell's power can be pushed.
its called a collective bargaining agreement.
the players agreed to follow the commish's judgement in matters of discipline when they signed off for more salary cap

Jerry Jones will have Zeke appeal this and and until the appeal is heard he will probably play. So not getting my hopes up he is not in the lineup for Game 3.
The appeal hearing would have to take place in New York and New York has a history of ruling.... denied. See Tom Brady,Ray Rice et al.

That is as bad as picking and eating boogers on camera. Beard Eating 101 is an elective.
To be honest, I might see it as worse. I have never seen someone do something like that. I am still amazed that there is no GIF online and have been tempted to get gamepass just to make a gif of when they had him on camera, eating his beard.

Ezekiel Elliott's appeal of his six-game suspension now is expected to be held August 29th, per the language in the CBA.

That's exactly what's going to happen, but then he's going to most likely sue the NFL & have it go to the courts just like Brady did, which will delay his suspension probably until after the season

Court will be in New York, too. The NFL attorneys know when the ruling is coming and campout at courthouse, to make sure they file first. This was covered a few days ago on a show. Also, what's different and NOT in Zekes favor, regarding suing the NFL...Brady had a case, because there was no specific rule/punishment in place before he got in trouble. In Zekes case, the rule/punishment has already been established AND approved by the players. Much steeper hill to climb and from what I've seen and heard, he wouldn't stand a chance in court.
