I could see how it would appear that way, but I became very skeptical after being involved with DV court in Eloy. My old boss had the defense contract there, and it was incredibly sad how dysfunctional almost every situation was. I have seen victims - both male and female - get railroaded because the aggressor was smarter than they were. Things like that.
I mean, we are talking about two specific cases here mostly, this and Dwash. I had and still have zero sympathy for Ray Rice. Over time my sympathy for Dwash has gone away too.
My main issue here actually is less with the victim (because Zeke is at minimum dysfunctional to some extent for keeping around someone who threatened to ruin his life) and more with the fact that the NFL seems to think it knows better than police and prosecutors. It is incredibly easy to prosecute misdemeanor DV case. Prosecution almost always wins, because they are generally non-jury trials and judges don't want to be the person to let someone off the hook that is a batterer.
