The Carolina game isn't a "big" game. It's a "win if you want to have even the slimmest hopes" game, but not a clincher or a much-anticipated game.

I think this is fair.

It is a Dec game with a little bit of pressure though, so I think it will be a baby step in the right direction if Kyler can play well on Sunday.

I mean it's got training wheels on it for gods sake. CAR is like the worst rushing defense in the league. Both K1 and the offense are in an excellent position to succeed.

Zero pressure at all.

It’s kind of a carbon copy of last week. Bad team. Made to be beat. Weaknesses are our strengths. No one is talking about us as a playoff contender. If we lose this we are just SOC.

Agreed. The thing this team has shown is the ability to beat bad teams. I expect that to continue.

So I have been thinking about the game broadcast where the announcers were talking about Trey McBride and him saying that he doesn't run routes correctly and that is what enables him to work so well with Kyler.

It makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Kyler is not a timing and rhythm thrower. He is rarely hitting a receiver out of their break unless it is a first read. We also know that Kyler likes to see a player open. He looks for space. If he i wanting his receivers to find space more than run precise routes, it explains why he struggles to connect with new WRs. Most Wrs are taught to be as precise as possible with their routes. This kinda goes against that.

in the ongoing development of the culture of this team -- the game is a challenge

Carolina is a bad team, but:

its at Carolina, and they have been playing better, and very well could have beat any of the three good teams played in the three weeks prior to last week

and oh-by the way: your giant division game the week after has just been flexed to prime time.

hard to believe the Cards could have a trap game, but i think its a trap game

The meaningful games when the season was on the line were either of the Seahawks games
Win one of the those games, and we're in the drivers seat for the division. He lost both, and was soundly outplayed by the definition of mediocrity, Geno Smith.

He'll never drop the label of big game choker if he never wins an important game.

Again I said there's a good chance Kyler has a good 4 game stretch cause there's no elite DCs.

Rams are playing well, but that young defense will make mistakes against an athlete like Kyler.

I'm on record (I may be wrong..we'll see). The 49ers game will be tougher for our offense than the Rams.
The Rams will be a lot tougher in round 2 on defense. That CB that Marv beat for 2 TDs was cut and the new guy is a lot better.

Does anyone else think Kylers nursing a leg injury? I remember he came off limping a few weeks ago and I think it's either nagging him or it's in his head. His wheels don't look the same recently, and he's giving up runs instead of bursting. Something looks different pre and post bye week.
He was getting worked on between every series in Seattle after halftime. He was testing is on the side and threw helmet in frustration. It was his hamstring.

Could have been minor, but now it's in his head and he doesn't trust his legs to hold up. Who knows.

Not really, he'd be on the injury report and he's not been on once.
Not completely accurate. If he's dealing with a lingering tight hamstring, is that a noteworthy injury? There are ways around it.

In the NFL, any player with a noteworthy injury, even if they fully participate in practice, must be listed on the injury report, which is submitted to the league office, opponents, and media; teams are required to be specific about the injured body part and must indicate if a player is "Did Not Participate," "Limited Participation," or "Full Participation" in practice each week leading up to a game

I remember a few years ago his personal trainer said Kyler will always have hamstring issues. Something he knows how to work around.

It’s amazing what one win against a trash team- even if Murray didn’t play well- can do for 602. In his mind- Murray is back to mvp contention
I don't think that's true. He just feels he's a lot better than some on here make him out to be. Sure he's a little over the top at times. That's why fan is short for fanatic. He's a fan of the team & Kyler plays for his team so he's going to root for him. I've been the same way at times with my fanaticism. Just ask Cheese. ;)

Come on man you even called him a choker.

Absolutely gagged in two of his biggest games.

Doesn’t mean he can’t redeem himself.

Again had he lost on Sunday people would for sure be parroting the “He can’t win meaningful games”.

Since he won that game it’s “the game was meaningless”

There is a middle to this situation that the game mattered to keep us in the hunt. We will see if K1 can continue winning.

People on here were saying the game was meaningless BEFORE the game was played. Don't go rewriting history. ;)
