Whis & Warner Debate Who Made Who?

That would be because he hadn't yet damaged his hand as badly as it was later. Two breaks in 2002, plus the thumb injury in the Super Bowl. Anyway. You've convinced me to leave, permanently. Not worth it. Good luck with the rest of your season and franchise.

Whis & Warner Debate Who Made Who?

Not a hand injury. He broke the pinky in 2000 and again in 2002, the base of the hand in 2002, and had a major thumb injury in 2001 that was exacerbated in the Super Bowl that year.

Whis & Warner Debate Who Made Who?

These question in conjunction with each other are a little unfair, since the only season in which Warner ever threw more INTs than TDs was 2002. So really, they're the same question. And actually, yes, his inability to hold onto the ball does explain, at least in part, why his TD to INT ratio...

Jim Hart: Hall of Fame Worthy or Not?

Not close. Ken Anderson, Bert Jones, Joe Theismann, Steve McNair, Randall Cunningham, Daryle Lamonica, Phil Simms, Rich Gannon, Boomer Esiason, Ken Stabler are ten eligible guys I'd take before Hart, no question. A bunch more on his level, too. And I love the guy.

What will make you happy this season?

Other: A time machine to take me forward to 2012 so I don't have to watch any more 2010 NFC West football.

    Why Are You Surprised?

The Cardinals have winning records against the Falcons (14-11), Saints (14-12), Seahawks (13-10) and Titans (5-4). Yeah, that's it.

Its time to start looking at draft

Sorry, dude. This is the NFC West. The sweet release of oblivion will not come to you for at least another six weeks. Everybody else in the division sucks too badly. You'll be mad until at least Tuesday, more likely Wednesday or even Thursday, given how horrible this loss was. And then...

    I....just....can't....watch...anymore...

12-8 and 11-7 spoiled you so badly you're turning your nose up at 3-4? Seriously?

    our 2011 QB

I love Luck. Some QB needy team is going to get a great one at the top of the draft. Mallet, I'm lukewarm on. I very much doubt he turns into a great pro. Locker, I was fairly high on coming into the season. However, from what I've seen, he's maybe regressed a little from last year. He...

From June 2004: [Old Thread] Warner to sign with NYG on Thursday

It's funny how often this comes up. You don't go into Canton as a member of any specific team. He'll go in with a plaque under his bust that says: "Kurt Warner Quarterback 1998-2003 St. Louis Rams 2004 New York Giants 2005-2009 Arizona Cardinals".

Rams are no joke! Especially at home.

The Rams are, as hard as this is for me to fathom, playing good, disciplined football. Their talent level right now is not high. Wide receiver is an utter disaster, and the offensive line is spotty, and some parts of the defense are pretty weak. There are several areas that will almost...

Derek Anderson gives us a much better chance to win than Max Hall

I dunno. I kind of like the current plan of playing whichever one has played terribly less recently.

Put Skelton In The Game. Why Is Anderson Going In?

This is exactly where Anderson might actually be the right man for the job. Understand, I am not an admirer of Anderson, but he's capable of making big things happen, for good or ill. If he makes good things happen, the Cards might come back. If he makes bad things happen, does it really matter?

Peter King loves him some Max Hall

Arena football was important to Warner's development because he hadn't had much chance to play in college, just the one year as a starter. He needed the opportunity to play, not because it was somehow better for him than college ball, but because he needed a chance instead of college.

Warner helped hide how terrible our coaching staff is.

Look, there are few people in the world who liked Warner as a QB more than me, and I believe there's definite truth to the idea that he disguised the offensive line's weakness. But plainly, Whisenhunt and the coaching staff made a bunch of good decisions during the Cards success. The coaching...

    2-2

He's good. He'll get better. Our offensive coordinator, on the other hand, will prevent us from winning as many games as we might. At this point, I wouldn't put anybody's chances in this division at much better than 25%, and I wouldn't be particularly surprised by any winner.

    Get rid of em Whiz

This. When the Rams desperately wanted to fire their inept DC in midseason in 2000, they were basically forced to keep him, and only bring Bud Carson in as a consultant. And Carson's contribution was to tell them, essentially, "You have no defensive tackles."
  20. Spielman

    2-2

Yeah, we're only at the quarter-pole, so context is more important than the actual record, still. Rams fans, for example, are absolutely giddy about 2-2 because in the context of the past five years 2-2 is awesome.

    My issue with DA

Matt Moore was an URFA in 2007, and started 3 games for the Panthers that same year.

Are we over-reacting or is QB a problem?

QB is a huge problem. No, people aren't generally overreacting. I was kind of bemused during preseason at how many people managed to talk themselves around to thinking Anderson is good.

    Congrats.

I was actually shocked to see the stat line. I felt like he was doing better than that through most of the game. I was worried about the pick initially, but he's turned me into a believer. I will say, I was glad to see the fumble call not wind up deciding the game. I can't believe they...

    We got pretty lucky right?

Whoever won that game was going to be rather lucky. That was exhausting.
  25. Spielman

    Congrats.

I know I should be saying things like "at least we made you work for it", and "well, the Rams showed more life than they have in recent years" and crap like that. But I'm afraid I can't stomach it. The best I can manage is a congratulations, and I hope everybody's healthy.
