    D-Backs and Pirates Series Thread

    1. Glad you admitted you don't watch much baseball. I figured because your version of reality is one of someone I can tell doesn't watch much baseball. 2. The ONLY ones I have heard saying that Goldy leaned into it are those two idiot Pirate broadcasters that got their panties all in a wad...

I know, that's why I was laughing. Retaliation is never done with a curveball.

The bolded is hilarious. Simply hilarious. Are you new to the game of baseball? I can't get the esurance lady out of my head: "That's not how it works, that's not how any of this works."

I did. It hurt my head. It also doesn't prove one single thing. I'm telling you almost every pitch is asked for low and away. Watch 300 of Goldy's at bats and you'll see that. Also, in the game of baseball, not every pitch is intended to be swung on (which that link can't possibly explain)...

How often do they? Where does it show that? How many of those are where the catcher asked for it? Again, that's from last year. The league is trying to adjust to him. I think now you are just trying to spool me up. Not gonna happen Mulli. Not gonna happen. I'll throw rocks at you instead. And...

    D-Backs and Pirates Series Thread

Two things that chart doesn't speak to. One: It proves my point. Look at his average when he is pitched to on the inner third. Not off the plate inside but the inner third. Two: It doesn't show how many pitches are thrown into what quandrant. I'm telling you almost all of them are in the...

    D-Backs and Pirates Series Thread

I only asked because in every Goldy at bat, time after time, pitch after pitch you see the other teams catcher set up low and away. It is the percieved hole in Goldy's swing. Any time I see a catcher set up anywhere else I get excited because good things are about to happen. I almost never...

Mostly agree. Like I said earlier, I told my wife it was coming and I said to her that I hoped it didn't. Not at that point. I say that to her alot. :D

    D-Backs and Pirates Series Thread

Honest question: Do you even watch D-Backs games? I only ask because your comments on here lead me to believe you don't. Every pitcher in MLB pitches to Goldy down and away nearly 90% of the time. I very rarely see any pitcher pitch Goldy inside because he has proven those balls are going...

The bolded is exactly what it was. A-rod style. We can agree to disagree, that's perfectly fine. Besides, I never have a problem watching Hurdle whine. It's pathetic, but entertaining.

I don't want to turn this into a debate, I just want to say how many thousands of games I've watched, including on the t.v., live, and on the field. I don't recall ever seeing that. Yes, I've seen slides like that a kajillion times but not with that result. To me, it's cheating and bush league.

Huge D-Backs fan, but that was total garbage. An embarrasing way to win a game. Reminded me of the A-Rod play down the first base line years back. I want the D-Backs to win, but not like that. That was bush league.

    Fan Fest

You do realize that practices and Fan Fest was/is done inside in the AC right? No need to stay home, it's all done inside.

    D-Backs and Pirates Series Thread

Agreed. This is back to back seasons that a Pirate pitcher has broken a D-Backs player's hand (A. Hill). NOBODY pitches in to Goldy, everyone pitches to him down and away. That said, They should have gotten McCutchen sooner. I also knew that was coming and I told my wife I didn't want to see it...

No kidding. My first thought when I saw the thread was "Is that who I think that is? He hasn't posted in forever!" Glad to see you back Azdad.

First warning shot fired by DOW today

I've been keeping a very close watch on world events lately and we are facing some stressful times. I don't pay any attention to Israel/Gaza or any of the other "headline" news because frankly, I don't care. What I find important is this chess game we are playing with Putin that has nothing...

    Parra traded to Milwaukee

Yeah, since MLB just hands those things out. Like I said, I'm not opposed to him being traded. As a matter of fact I expected it and I'm not sad to see his base running gaffs go away. I just don't understand giving him away for what appears to be nothing. It's not like he was hurting the...

    Parra traded to Milwaukee

A dime a dozen two-time Gold Glove winner. I don't mind seeing him traded from an offensive viewpoint but it appears he was just given away. FWIW as far as team chemistry goes it kind of sours the clubhouse. He was very very close to Prado and Miggy. I don't get it.

You have no idea - ASFN

I'm sorry that this happened to you but glad to hear it can be managed. ASFN has been a great community in so many ways. I'll stop by your tailgate this year to say hi and see how you are doing. Best of luck going forward and as always around here, don't be afraid to ask for help.

    Mad Max: Fury Road

No I heard of it, now it's just a matter of finding it. Thanks for the heads up. I don't do Star Trek movies though. The last one I saw was literally the one where Spock died. Was at the drive-in in the 80's. I remember when Spock bit it all I could hear was people at the drive-in yelling "You...

Yep. Tom Hardy is sky-rocketing to the top of my favorites. Hey Cheese, awhile back you had mentioned that Hardy hadn't had his tour-de-force role yet (this goes back awhile) and I mentioned his role in Bronson. Have you seen it yet? Incredible performance. I was dumb founded when I...

The 2nd worst GM was fired today, when will the worst be fired?

I have one HUGE concern going forward. We all know the D-Backs are going to be sellers at the deadline. Guys like Cody Ross, Aaron Hill, McCarthy are going to be talked about. I don't think any of us wants Towers making those deals, so he has got to go before the deadline nears.

    ASFN has a new owner.

Nope. Portugal tied it with 26 seconds left in the game. Had the U.S. won outright they would have advanced to the 16. Oh, and a HUGE thank you by the way.
