    The case for Mike McCoy

Listening to Gambo now. He is saying that it will be McCoy. Flip isn't leaving Philly. I suppose I can be fine with it if this turns out to be the case. Feel like we need someone with HC experience in the building. Go Cards!!!

Do you suppose any of these Panthers FA would want to come to AZ?

Problem is there are a few teams with ridiculous amount of cap available to throw at players. Norwell would be a good place to throw it. Plus, I think Carolina is expected to have more cap space than us, so not sure they'll let him leave. I agree though, it would be nice. Go Cards!!!

Seems like Alex Smith is a typical fit for the Cards

I'm hoping for Alex, but that doesn't preclude me from wanting us to be aggressive in the draft to land someone early as well. We will need some a vet to start the season and mentor whomever we draft. Frankly, I wouldn't be upset if we draft two QB's and let them compete and learn together...

Wilks offered Bettcher the DC job

More likely, his agent. Regardless, Giants DC job is one of the better options out there. I don't blame him for accepting, and wish him luck.

Wilks offered Bettcher the DC job

I was fine with Betch getting the HC job, but with Wilkes coming in, I'm glad that Betcher decided to move on.

    just heard that too.

    James Bettcher to the Giants

Jurecki reporting that Wilkes offered DC job to Betcher, who turned it down.

    James Bettcher to the Giants

Somers employer holds him to a significantly higher standard than the AZSports radio crew. He's slower in reporting due to this, but his word is usually correct.

Cardinals' Defensive Framework and OC Search

I see the Badger following Betcher to NY after we release him for Cap savings. He'll be great there.

Wilks + Bettcher ain’t gonna happen

When BA came in, he was adamant that all previous coaches had to go. You don't want players running to the prior staff to complain about the new changes. If Betcher was named the HC, I'd have been fine with keeping some/most of the existing staff. With Wilkes, they all have to go. Go Cards!!!

I think the Cardinals will be going after Cousins

Alex Smith seems much more likely in my opinion. I have to say, I have an admitted bias against anything relating to the Washington Football Program.

Saw Keim, A-Dub, Mike B and Wilkes...

Given we have no QB on the roster, I think this is a given at this point. I think that D learning a new system next year will start out slow and cost us a game or two before they figure things out and come on strong towards end of the season. You'd think DJ should significantly help the...

    Brian Flores

Flores for DC, I'm all for. HC, not so much. Not enough experience directing and coaching coaches. Too big of a jump at this point in his career. I think he (and Flores) have probably earned the right for a promotion to DC, but neither are ready to run the entire show, IMO. Flip is a bit...

    Keith Armstrong? Something or nothing?

Sorry, what reports that BA overstepped Keim are you talking about? Mahomes and Watson were both off the board by our pick and as I recall, we were set to draft Watson when we got jumped by Houston. You're implying that Keim wanted to jump into top 10 for either of them but BA over-ruled a...

    Championship Sunday. Who you got?

Yes, I think this is the best possible matchup for my taste. Pulling for Calais. Would absolutely lose my $#!^ to hear the Vikes radio guy call a Bortles to Lee last second TD to win, ala McCown to Poole.

    Keith Armstrong? Something or nothing?

Perhaps they look at him as the winningest coach in franchise history and architect of our best season in franchise history. Also, hard to fault his playoff w/l record when Palmer got injured in 2014, leaving us with an inept Lindley at QB. BA is gone. I don't get why we need to focus on his...

    Seahawks fire OC Bevell

With Garappalo's (sp?) early success and our lack of a QB, I think we are on the bottom of the NFC now.

Cardinals' HC Search Thoughts Part III

I think QB's and most players, young and vet alike, spend the majority of their time with their position coaches. I think the direct impact HC have on developing players is minimal. Sure, they will have some impact, but BA doesn't spend hours studying film of second string TE's. He reviews...

If The Cardinals Want to Hire the HC In House...

I'm not sure I'm on board yet with AW being one of our scouts. To make him HC would be to revisit the days of Larry Wilson as GM. Both great players. Not sure either is/was ever prepared for those roles. Personally, I won't flip out if Betcher gets the HC gig, so long as he replaces Amos...

    Larry's "A Football Life"

There have been three Cardinal related episodes recently, and all are tremendous. Larry, Aeneas, and Tillman's. I can watch all of them repeatedly. For al the knuckle-heads in the league, we've been blessed with some truely inspirational players coming through this organization. Go Cards!!!

Do YOU think Bruce Arians will be back next season ?

I think there are four or five coaches on staff older than BA. Belichick, Carrol, Saban, all older than BA and still performing at a high level. Wade Phillips, Dick LeBeau, even Monte Kiffin all still active in their 70's. There are just too many coaches working late into their years for BA...
