    Suns @ Bucks 11-23-18

Shocker! When Mil went up by five I knew it was over. Hopefully Canaan gets some vacation time...

With two Great Players (even though young) Why aren't the Suns better?

I forgot they hired a new HC... Losing Boogie was smart, I agree

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

Dinwiddie would be a great grab, if we could pull it off. Last year when the he was first getting some buzz, I made up a list of up and coming PG's who were stuck behind big name guys. Dinwiddie, Tyus Jones(Min), VanVleet and Delon Wright(Tor) and Jerian Grant(chi). At the time it was to take...

With two Great Players (even though young) Why aren't the Suns better?

Until the last year or so the Kings FO was approximately as bad as ours. What happened? It's like fleecing us in the Chriss deal was a springboard to sanity for them. Or is it something we can imitate?

    How good is Booker?

IIRC, McD tried to get SGA. That doesn't mean he couldn't have offered more and gotten him. While it was happening, I was hoping for Zaire Smith and Bridges. That wouldn't look so good in retrospect because Smith has been injured. I was rating him close to SGA...

Poll - Igor Kokoskov's Future With the Suns

Given that Sarver will play a major role in hiring the next coach we need to give Igor a long leash - at least one whole season. To me the worst thing is that the team is simply not playing hard - that has to be a good bit on the coach. You could see it as him being sabotaged by his veteran...

OT: Fox Sports Arizona is going away.

That will affect me, too, eventually. Direct has been broadcasting almost every game so far. Interestingly, I called Direct a couple of times and asked them about the Suns broadcast plans. No one I talked to had any idea - they looked at the same shedule I did, which is only a couple of weeks...

    Suns @ Bulls 11-21-18

As long as Book is good with it, burn at PG is a plus for his overall development. I'd say that using the Philly lineup would be a good move tonight, maximizing the odds of a win. This team needs a win after a tough loss- they seem to be turning a corner and a morale boost is what they need to...

    Hustle stats

I just discovered the hustle stats page at NBA stats. My impression of the Suns play is that that are really not playing hard as I posted a few days ago. No one posted a differing opinion but the hustle stats make it startlingly clear. Here are the Suns rankings for each category: Shots...

    Ayton’s Blocks

I suspect that you are just making a joke, but there are many people who say it and believe it. The value of stats is highly dependent on the brain that interprets them, so speak for yourself.

    Thunder @ Suns 11-17-18

If you looked at the clip of Igor's Nat'l team you'll see that the C rarely came out to set picks for the guys in the weave action, typically he came to top half of the key and received a pass there. One or more of the weavers sould cut by him, rather like a pinch post maneuver. I don't know...

Regardless of price I don't want Wall unless Igor is champing at the bit to get him.

"I don't know how to play bad basketball" -- Josh Jackson

it could vary with circumstances but generally I'd rather have a SF scoring 19 pts at 44% than a PF scoring 10 pts on 46% shooting. It is better compared to the averages for SF(45.4%) and PF (48.1%)

    Spurs @ Suns 11-14-18

Normally, it is a good idea to have some savvy, old verterans on your team. They will help the youngsters learn how to play the NBA game. One of the key things they have in their memory banks is how hard you have to play to succeed in this league. I suppose the top ten per cent of the...

    The 2019 Draft

My recollection is that it was a big surprise when Bennett went #1. I was relieved when it happened because it meant we couldn't draft him - up until then he'd been projected near where our pick fell. I can't say that I projected him to be a total bust but he didn't move smoothly, indicating...

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

TJ playing PF now and then is one thing, but I think he'd be out with injuries a lot if he had to bang with the PF's every night - he seems to gather plenty of injuries, including mysterious ones, as it is. Maybe some assistant coach could undertake the job of running a PF committee - analyzing...

If he has 33% avg from 3pt line, then he has to have taken at least 3 shots from there.

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

What you just stated was what seemed to be a widely held opinion here. Canaan and Melton then said that Igor was pounding on them to remember everything he told them about running the point in his O. Igor followed that by saying the point was of great importance in his offense. Their three...

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

I don't recall anyone saying that, in fact the general notion was that it was motion type offense and that the point guard is typically not too important in such offenses. Phil Jackson's triangle, which is said to be a variety of motion, certainly didn't stress the point. But it sounds like...

Sixers get Jimmy Butler for a six-pack of beer and some dirty socks

The stats I gave were for last season and were per game stats. Yep, Saric played more minutes because his he was more productive.

Sixers get Jimmy Butler for a six-pack of beer and some dirty socks

Saric scores twice as many points as Chriss, on more effocoemt shooting, much more efficient from 3 and FT line, gets more rebounds and assists. Chriss gets more blocks but that's it. Oh yeah, they're very, very close = not!
