The end of Rauch is near (rumor)

He will be up very soon. I would say less than a month ( purely a guess ).

    2009 MLB Draft

I want C Josh Phegley, who put up monster numbers this year and last. He might fall to us because there are questions about his ability to stay at catcher. Even so Phegley can be an offensive force with a great eye (2009 #'s: 45 BBs to 31 Ks in 213 at bats) and is considered by some to be the...

The Road to the Show - 2009 Edition

In six games (all starts), Miley is 1-2 with an ERA of 3.50. He has pitched 36 1/3 Innings, with 7 BBs, and 27 Ks. He has controlled his pitches really well this year averaging less than 2 walks per 9 innings (1.8), down from 4.1 per nine last year.

    Melvin's departure apparently imminent

Are you kidding? The Lincoln Saltdogs have been trying to acquire Byrnes for the past year now. They have a back-up outfield spot open on their roster.

Melvin will be fired per Gambo

I seriously doubt that the organization will throw Grace right into the fire like that. Gibson was the first person I thought about.

What will it take for Melvin to get fired?

Wally Backman is currently managing the Joliet Jackhammers of the Northern League.

    Dbacks @ Dodgers 5-4

I am just losing all faith in Chris Young (Why is he batting second?:bang:). He has had a number of good pitches to hit today but just cannot do anything with them. The organization should think about faking an injury to get Young some Triple-A at bats while we bring up Gerardo Parra to see...

    Oh, my...

Juan Gutierrez in the 7th, Pena in 8th, then Qualls. Gutierrez has been pretty dependable this year (he only had one bad outing against LA on 4/11 and a blown save in Colorado). I do not see the reasoning behind bringing in someone during a one run game who just got back from his rehab...

I hate to disagree, but I think Melvin is here until at least the All-Star break. Schu can be gone by next week, but management has been more than lenient with Melvin and probably will continue. I hope I am wrong.

If Josh Byrnes does not fire Melvin & Schu then he should be fired

I am not arguing that the Dan Haren trade was bad, but it wasn't great. Look at what was given up by the Dbacks to get Haren: 2/5ths of the Oakland rotation in Dana Eveland and Brett Anderson, along with first base prospect Cris Carter (who we traded Quentin for) and outfielders Aaron...

    Todays Line Up

There is no doubt that last night's lineup is the best offensive unit the team can put out there. However, once we face another left-hander Byrnes and Tony Clark will be inserted right in.

I don't know if anyone would be interested but my buddy and I put up a number of our 360 games on half.com. We have Madden 09, Prince of Persia, F.E.A.R., and Oblivion up right now. Here is the link to it.

    Fire Melvin now!

I do not understand what is possibly going on in Melvin's brain. I would love to have a thought balloon over that guys head. Is he thinking actual people thoughts or, like, the thoughts of a dog? Case in point, Tony Clark on opening day hit two home runs and had three RBIs. The next two...

Favorite Horror Game of All Time

While I was playing F.E.A.R. 2 I realized that it never made me afraid to turn off the lights but did lull me to sleep with Alma's predictable booty calls (and yes, she assaults you by trying to get after your %^&*). However, the game also gave me time to think about what games truly did the...

Rule 5 pick James Skelton stays with Diamondbacks after minor league deal with Tigers

Can't say that I like giving up on Brown (especially since we drafted him ahead of Joba Chamberlain) already and I am not that big on Skelton either. Although I like him offensively, he will probably not stay at catcher and that causes concern about where he will play in the future (although...

Robin Lopez will never be good

Brooke Lopez is a thief.... He must have stolen his brother's talent while they were in the womb. How else can one explain the difference in the two?
