    Green Room Invites

Looks like Rodney Stuckey is the early favorite for the Casey Jacobsen award, given annually to the last player left in the green room. Be sure to bring a hot girlfriend, Rodney!

ASFN mock draft 2007: #14 (LAC)

    Hey, it's Antonio Daniels!

    KG to LA?????

    KG to LA?????

I don't see why Suns fans should be scared of the Lakers, even with KG. From the Suns' perspective, the difference between the Lakers with and without KG is that with KG, the Lakers will lose before Phoenix gets to them rather than matching up in the first round again.

    KG to LA?????

So you're saying that he probably thinks the Lakers deal is better, right? ;)

Brandan Wright to also workout for Suns

It's still hard for me to believe that Brandan Wright might drop into the Suns' laps--the conventional way players are scouted and ranked, Wright is pretty clearly the 3rd-best prospect in the draft. This says to me that the Suns are looking at #5...either that or they're looking for the best...

    Spurs - Oberto Opts Out

The Spurs' problem is that their wheel year is only a year away--they're trying to set aside cap room for free agency in 2008. So, if Oberto (or Finley) leaves, they'll have a tough time replacing him. They really don't want to offer any multi-year contracts, and there aren't many players out...

    KG to LA?????

Lakers fans and shills have been putting up KG rumors for the last three years. They're obviously not going to stop now, even though there's no evidence KG would be interested in going there. Here in reality, an Odom/Bynum/#17 trade has a very similar problem to Marion/Barbosa/Atlanta...

    Gambo says...

No point in debating Gambo's credentials for this 'rumor'. Even if it's impeccably sourced, it's still not worth anything. I mean, what possibility did he exclude here? That a top-10 team would give the Suns their pick out of charity?

ASFN mock draft 2007: #11 (ATL)

I heard the Hawks prefer Crittenton, actually.

Is this draft really that strong?

A few people said LeBron would bust too. Mostly, it was the college basketball establishment trying to protect Anthony. Both Joe Dumars and Kiki Vandeweghe preferred Darko over Carmelo. IIRC, Darko tested out ridiculously well at the combine and had a solid pedigree in the Euro Juniors and...

Chandler sounds like Trevor Ariza from that. Balkman reminded me of Chris Porter--garbageman PF in a SF's body.

Is this draft really that strong?

I think you mean 3 players (LeBron, Darko, Carmelo), with Bosh in a tier by himself just behind them.
  14. F-Dog

Is this draft really that strong?

Obviously, the biggest strength of this draft is the #2 overall pick. Having a no-questions-needed superstar available at that spot is almost unheard of. After that, this draft could be as good as 2003 down to #12 overall or so. Brandan Wright in the 3-5 area, while not quite the sure thing...

Brewer is coming in with Noah

Hmm. Glad you feel that way, Gadd. I guess that means they're not getting KG, either.

Are we all forgetting Amare's surgery?

If it wasn't for Amare's surgery, we wouldn't be discussing trades in the first place.

Brewer is coming in with Noah

Now if they bring in Yi, they'll have worked out all three players they brought in for a visit during the playoffs.

Noah to work out for Suns

Oh, I think the real difference is that they won in 2007. If they hadn't, the fans in Spurs country would be pointing out to each other that the team went into last offseason needing a backup PG and a long agile defender, and wound up filling those roles with Jacque Vaughn and nobody. The...

Noah to work out for Suns

Except when the it's the Spurs, apparently. The Suns are waiting for Amare and Barbosa to get healthy right now.

Minnesota Fan Source Reports KG in talks with Suns

If they give up Marion and Barbosa, how are the Suns supposed to be better? KG isn't going to play 70 minutes per game, and the Suns' budget will be completely busted.
  21. F-Dog

Noah to work out for Suns

The Spurs lost to Dallas last year and were wracked by terrible matchup problems that whole series. So what did they do last offseason? Nothing substantive. With Horry even worse than before, they had no answers to a full-sized shooting PF this season. It's not any of their doing that they...

Noah to work out for Suns

The Spurs seemed to have some success with that same philosophy, though.

Griffin: We are INTENT on moving up!

To me, this sounds like they're trying to turn the Atlanta pick into a pick this year, probably in the 11-15 range. That's too late for Noah, so they're presumably looking at a swingman like Al Thornton or possibly Nick Young. IMO Splitter and Fernandez are the wild-cards in that area.

Oden or Durant? (one week before draft)

It was the same way with LeBron James.
