Marc stein - KG wants SUNNNNSSSS!!!

I think KG would be headed for Boston right now if he hadn't put his foot down, but hey, that's just me. I wonder what McHale thinks Boris Diaw is worth...

Marc stein - KG wants SUNNNNSSSS!!!

:Dold The Suns have a real chance at this now.

Agent: "Garnett not interested in becoming a Celtic"

Marion will never have the kind of leverage KG does--his contract is value-neutral at best, and he'll never get another one that size without a S&T. It also won't require Al Jefferson to get him.

Agent: "Garnett not interested in becoming a Celtic"

On the other hand, Kobe himself would prefer to play in Phoenix.

Agent: "Garnett not interested in becoming a Celtic"

Odom is worth less than Marion to the Wolves--they wouldn't want either player to actually play for them, and Odom is less tradeable because of his rep. I couldn't tell you how they rate Bynum, though. The Lakers do have an advantage over the Suns, which is that they don't have to worry...

Agent: "Garnett not interested in becoming a Celtic"

I guarantee you that they will. The Suns might have McHale's personal preference in that horse race, though. :)

Source: C’s closer to KG deal

According to crazy Laker fans, a couple of their crazy radio people are breaking the news that KG will not 'accept' a trade to Boston...whatever that means. Lakers fans have been after KG since Shaq left, of course--they always imagine he'll be happy to knuckle under and carry the bags for...

Minnesota Fan Source Reports KG in talks with Suns

From what I remember, the concern about McGrady's back at the time was intense. McGrady has actually been significantly more durable than a lot of people predicted. Also, as you say, Garnett is the better player, and since bigs are generally worth more than smalls...

Minnesota Fan Source Reports KG in talks with Suns

This is how I look at it: 2007 Kevin Garnett > 2004 Tracy McGrady 2007 Marion = 2004 Marion 2007 Barbosa = 2004 Joe Johnson (with contracts thrown into consideration) Atlanta's pick in 2008 < 7th overall pick in 2004 To make this trade happen, the Atlanta pick obviously has to...

    Boris Diaw interview

If it's Boris, you can make a pretty good guess. It would have been nice to see Boris acknowledge that he was installed at starting PF at the beginning of the year, and that he lost that job (despite the Suns not having a good alternative) because he couldn't stay in front of anybody...

Minnesota Fan Source Reports KG in talks with Suns

After the trade deadline last season, KG was discussing his team's lack of activity, and he said something to the effect of, 'that's what opt-outs are for'. That was the first time he'd threatened to leave, in public at least.

    Kg

KG has a history of punching scrubby white teammates in practice. Nobody knows why for sure, but the white guy concerned was generally hustling to make the team--I think one year he tagged Rick Rickert, who'd turned down the UA out of high school--so it might be a matter of establishing...

    Kg

As long as KG throws the Wolves under a bus by insisting he won't re-sign with any team but the Suns, I'll love him to death.

NBA Soures Confirm Suns Talking to Wolves About KG

Also, KG probably sees more double-teams in a week than Marion has his entire life.

Minnesota Fan Source Reports KG in talks with Suns

Davis' contract would be better, but IMO the Suns would have a better chance to win with Jaric. Ricky's problem isn't his attitude as much as his fundamentals. For his size and athleticism, he might be the weakest defender in the league.

Minnesota Fan Source Reports KG in talks with Suns

I would describe Jaric as a rich man's Casey Jacobsen--a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none. He's not as exciting as John Salmons and makes significantly more money, but on the other hand, Jesus Christ probably wouldn't object if he was traded to Phoenix. IMO Jaric could potentially challenge...

NBA Soures Confirm Suns Talking to Wolves About KG

I doubt he'd get a minute at SF with the Suns. Not that he's incapable of playing there, I just think D'Antoni would prefer to have him at PF and C.

NBA Soures Confirm Suns Talking to Wolves About KG

OK, since you insist...I pay attention to what you think, too, Eric.

NBA Soures Confirm Suns Talking to Wolves About KG

The effect would be similar to moving Marion to PF full-time, except KG is much better at guarding big men and punishing mismatches.

I think Fernandez is on the Fran Vasquez plan--recovering from the FIBA season and hasn't been to the U.S. yet.

    Boykins declines option, becomes UFA

Actually, I'd rather have Marcus Banks off the bench than Boykins, even after last year.

    Boykins declines option, becomes UFA

Boykins makes Eddie House seem unselfish. His ideal spot would be as a bench scorer for a team with a poorly-coached offense and/or a number of offense-challenged role players. IMO his agent is targeting the Cleveland Cavaliers...

Minnesota Fan Source Reports KG in talks with Suns

If the Suns get Garnett, the main guy responsible will be KG himself. His opt-out gives him a lot of leverage, and his loyalty gives him a tiny bit more, so if KG spits on Paul Pierce and Boston, the Suns have a chance at him. Even so, it's hard to see the Suns getting KG without giving...

Lakers insider Thompson would take Kobe/Suns trade over Bulls/Knicks in a heartbeat

Gordon and Deng is a good deal for LA...better than the deal they actually get, I'm guessing. I like how the Kobe dRaMa continues to distract the Bulls from pursuing KG.

Suns will likely hire Mark Bryant as new assistant

Bryant was a career backup at center, played his early career with Portland. I think he was shipped to Phoenix when they traded Barkley to Houston, and he lasted a couple of years before they dropped him (more than you can say for the other players in that trade). From what I recall, he was...
