Jones should be suspended for that trip...that's some blatant stuff.

Horribly officiated game, but the Lakers didn't get after rebounds and it cost them. Of course, they got the HCA back so they don't care (I hate that attitude, comes right from Phil).

How anyone could not dislike J.R. Smith if they dislike Kobe is beyond me...that dude is a quarter as talented and more cocky.
Other than Kobe Bryant and Vujacic, the Lakers aren't that detestable of a team. Some of them are soft and/or underachievers but they're not bad guys. JR Smith, Kenyon Martin, and Dahntay Jones belong in Cell Block D.

Agreed. I just can't stand the guy, and it's not just because he always shreds the suns up. He's just a cocky SOB.

Strangely enough though, his post game interview he was much more subdued.

For $250,000 a year, you'd think they can get a couple of calls right. They make PAC-10 officiating look good

Cocky is one thing, several guys in the league are cocky. Now this is in no way an attempt to trash talk the Lakers, but I believe the reason many folks dislike Kobe is his arrogance, not his cockiness. For example, his giving himself a nickname. Just an observation.

Not even close.

I guess that's because you're blinded by Laker hate.

Just because Kobe might or might not have done something in a Colorado hotel several years ago doesn't make me forget that almost the entire Nugget roster is a cheapshot-delivering thugs and druggies. The Cavs and Magic are exponentially more likable teams despite their sometimes boring styles of play compaed to the Western Conference counterparts.

Druggies? Any proof of that? I'm sure the league would be interested in your insider knowledge.

Uhm, Anderson was suspended 2 years for violating the drug policy (heroin, coke or meth, likely H).

Melo was just holding some weed for his friend when he went through the airport.

Not that I'd call Melo a druggie.

Putting two and two together isn't difficult.

Not to mention the NBA stopped caring about marijuana use years ago as it can sometimes keep players out of the clubs and therefore the headlines.

Which doesn't make him a "druggie" today, does it? Particularly in light of increased testing he probably is subjected to.

Yes, and has passed weekly drug tests for 2+ years. The term means uses drugs daily. Does a person who smoked pot 15 years ago or smokes a few times a year qualify as a druggie? Sorry, but we don't know what he did and we don't know for how long. In my book the guy made a mistake, paid for it, and it's history. As for the pot, I doubt an athlete of NBA calibur could smoke pot daily and perform. Just seems bold and ignorant to proclaim a group of people you don't know druggies based on that.

Apparently in your opinion, I find it reckless. I still don't know where you're getting your 2's from?

That's another huge assumption. Any proof?

It's not ignorant, it's the truth. A good portion of the Lakers roster smokes pot regularly as well, they (with the exception of Kobe) are just not the dirty players the Nuggets are probably because they're too soft. Marijuana use is simply part of the NBA culture. It's not a big deal - most NBA players are in their early to mid 20's and many people especially males in that age group smoke marijuana.

And bringing up the NBA drug testing policy pretty much confirms your lack of knowledge on the subject. The testing policy is about as "random" as the sun rising tomorrow.

How about more than half the league smoking pot and only about a few percent getting punished for it? If you're expecting me to produce a memo from the desk of David Stern or something then sorry I guess I can't.

But using some reasoning skills isn't a crime.

LOL I've now asked twice how you know this and you keep avoiding the question all the while making more and more claims. Did I ever say it was random? In fact where did I bring up the policy? You did and have made claims that you've shown zero support to back up.

My best friends uncle played for the Lakers back in the 80's for a couple years. He said something that I've never forgotten. "If you play in the pro's, you're cocky because you think you're the best. If you don't think you're the best you'll always lose."

What if you think you're the best and you still lose? Should you sell real estate?

No, but I expect something more than a claim of "reasoning skillls". IMO your making assumptions, not using reasoning. I'm not going to fight with you over this. I've seen zero proof on your part for the claims you've made and from what I've known your claims are not supported. Believe what you want.

Well, I could give you personal sources if you want. Guys I went to school with who either played or play in the NBA, people who work at hotels, clubs, and restaurants that NBA players frequent, friends who have had personal history with NBA players, etc.

But I'll just let NBA veterans like Josh Howard or Charles Oakley confirm what I just said. Or the countless polls done by media outles in the last several years.

I guess I can clear up this argument pretty quick. When was the last time you heard about an NBA player testing positive for drugs? That's about the only truth I need on the subject
