Cardschatter Looks like Beanie's right leg. He's up now. Looks like he will be ok.

Cardschatter Beanie Wells down after a carry, bent down on his knees. Looked like he got it in the leg.

The update on the other Cardinals MB says he walked off under his own power and they were looking at his ribs.

Guess we'll have to wait for the truth to come out.

Said it is not a leg..thought it was a hip or ribs. He said he had to have help from people to get to the cart...so he kind of walked to the cart.

bob will be back at 5:45 PM. They are saying that hopefully he only had the wind knocked out of him.

Ok I saw it. Beanie was laid out hard by Hamzah Abdullah. He was curled up face down for a good 3 minutes in extreme pain. He walked off the field gingerly grabbing his rib area. They continued to look at him on the sidelines and then they brought out the cart and carted him off the field. He was in extreme pain. I highly doubt it was just the wind being knocked out. But I can certainly hope.

Bruised, separated and busted ribs are painful... but, they heal quickly.

Abdullah??? Figures it would be camp-scrub as the culprit... :bang:

"heal quickly"?? Unless you have some sort of bionic ribs, I can personally attest to this not being the case! I suffered bruised ribs in 2009, and it took a solid 6 weeks before I felt as though I could sneeze without feeling pain! And I'm not a professional football player who needs to exercise daily!!
If he's got any type of rib injury, Beanie will be held out of camp for quite a while. And if they have any desire to see him in Week 1, I would not at all be surprised if he's held out for the balance of camp... It depends of course on the extent of the injury, but if they are badly bruised to fractured, I think he's toast for the rest of camp...

Athletes have come back quickly from rib injuries time and time again. And, compared to the ordinary joe, they are somewhat "bionic". He may be out of camp; may have to wear flak protection initially ... but, can't imagine the rib injury that would not have him available for the start of the season.

One wonders why he wasn't wearing a flak jacket to begin with?

These are not full contact drills, from what I gather. The hit was a mistake (see Urban)

Most players today other than helmets & shoulders pads rarely or barely wear any pads anyway, let alone a flak jacket. I remember Stump Mitchell & Earl Campbells big thigh pads clearly & those days have long gone.
