Watching this video, something I never noticed. After Igwebuke missed the FG at the end, the first player out to console him was Lomax. Not even his own teammates came up to him but Neil did. Neil was a class act all the way.

This is the damn truth! See my avatar. Love me some Neil Lomax! My favorite player when I first started watching football.
They could have had and did have a hell of team for a little bit Lomax qb, Roy Green Wr, Ottis Anderson Rb and No Defense to speak of

The Cards comeback cost me about 15K on a 10 game parlay bet with the point spreads. Odds were 1000-1 to hit 10 out of 10 games in an English betting parlor. Bet 10 British pounds. Only game missed was the Cards and that was by 1/2 point.

What killed the '84 team was O'Donahue. Cost them at least 2 games and I'm not even talking about the Washington game(the ******** call on EJ Junior cost us that game in the end).
Dang I remember 'O'Donadoink I was trying to forget, what about OJ Anderson's first game against the CowPokes lost but what a showing

From Deleware State as I recall most likely the best player that school has ever produced
Portland St actually, coached by the originator of the Run & Shoot, Mouse Davis. Lomax once threw 7 TD passes in the first quarter against Delaware St. en route to beating them 105-0. Fun Fact though about Delaware St. That is the alma mater of one Rodney Gunter. And for the record, the best player ever out of Delaware St. would be John Taylor.

Your math adds up to 10k, not 15k.

btw, if that ever happened to me, I'd quit being a Cards fan.

I was at that Washington game. The officials screwed us horribly. When it ended, even the Skins fans admitted we should have won.

Here is that game in it's entirety. Watch the end. I don't get Hanifan's thinking. Lomax hits Pittman for about 8 yards and there's like 17 seconds left as they approach the LOS and instead of doing a snap and throw out of bounds, which they had time to do, he scrambles the kicking team onto the field. Dumb. They had ample time to even run a sideline play for a few yards or throw it away. Would have had at least 5 seconds left to kick.

How about Jack Buck on the call of the Tampa Bay game? :)

And what an ugly divorce between the city of St. Louis and the Cardinals.
