"We're playing 12 guys, and it's a different concept from how the starters play to how the second unit plays," Suns swingman Jared Dudley said. "The second unit made its mark last season on ball pressure and getting up full court. Josh (Childress) and Hakim (Warrick) are learning that it has to be in the back of our minds all the time. It'll be interesting to see how we play after two days of practice."

After years of D'Antoni and the rigid 8 man rotation, last year's 10 man rotation seemed odd. The idea of a 12 man rotation seems absurd, but who knows.

The problem is that there is some real logic to a 12 man rotation, although it is all but unprecidented even on Olympic teams.

A TEAM'

Lopez
Hedo
Hill
J-Rich
Nash

B TEAM

Frye
Warrick
Childress
Dudley
Dragic

BOTTOM 2

Clark
Jone

D-LEAGUE

Lawal
Janning

Realistically, Jones is the only heady duty rebounder in the top 12. Genry is already compaining that there is not enough "energy" going into the rebounding, so it may be hard to keep Jones orLawal out of the rotation.

They're not going to have a 12 man rotation. No team runs a 12 man rotation. Heck, a 10 man rotation is extremely rare, especially amongst top teams.

We won't run a 12 man rotation. It would be interesting to run a 10 man rotation if the players on the court actually go all out while out there. It is a strength of this team, but it would be a pretty good stretch to actually make use of it. If the list was a depth chart, I would put Lawal over Clark.

Also, I am all for a 2 or 3 for 1 trade if we could get a quality young player in return. Looks like the trade deadline might be interesting for the Suns.

At this point it seems Gentry is waiting for some of the guys to "step up" and it hasn't happened yet. There may not be a real rotation until after a few months.

Your "A" team and "B" team is pretty much the rotation. None of the guys on the outside looking in really has much of a chance to supplant any of the B guys.

My biggest concern with the B team is that Warrick and Amundson have different skill sets. Jones and Lawal are both defense oriented rebounders. Unless Frye and Warrick exceed expectations on defense, I would expect Jones and/or Lawal to get some of the minutes Amundson got last season.

I would've liked a 2 for 1 Trade in offseason to shorten roster. Example: Grant Hill and Jared Dudley for Mickael Pietrus. We may lose out on Trade value but the first two Teams would be set and Clark/Lawal would then step into 10 man rotation. Turkoglu wouldn't be guarding PF's and Warrick runs the pick n roll with Nash...

1st - Lopez, Warrick, Turkoglu, Richardson, and Nash. 2nd - Frye, Clark, Childress, Pietrus, and Dragic.

or maybe 2 of the wings for a PF, etc. I've like Earl Clark's statline and Lawal's (as well)... althought the one televised game the 3rd Team didn't play that well. Clark is averaging: PTS 4.3 REB 3.0 AST 1.0 STL .8 BLK 1.5, in 16 minutes. Those aren't fantasy worthy numbers but very similiar to a Louis Amundson statline... I've liked Amundson's game since UNLV but he needed minutes to show off skills and Clark won't get many with 12 man rotation??
